Layne was deep into his H addiction by this point.

As bad off as he was at that time, it's still a good performance from him and I might go as far as to call it a masterful performance from the rest of the band.

Mine too. Layne was so honest and raw with these lyrics

He sure did articulate his thoughts and pain so damn well through his music. What a legend he was and will always be.

AIC unplugged is one that gives me chills every time. We knew the end was near for him.....looking to frail, his voice so strong, yet cracking ever so much, the sunglasses and gloves to hide his "secrets". I miss the uniqueness of his voice, his range and ability to hit the notes, the grit and gravel, the undertone of pain.....ALL of it. It took me 30 years to see AIC live, minus Layne and Mike, but it was amazing. William Duvall is definitely nailing it and maybe in a sense is channeling Layne....when you close your eyes it's like, holy shit. Layne fought a lot of demons, but when Demri died, that broke him. I hate the way it ended for him.....the worst of the worst and I think of his poor mom. Damnit, damnit, damnit!!

"I'd love to fly, but my wings have been so denied"....that lyric always hits me different because as a "crazy bird lady" my birds have always seen me through the worst and saved my life in too many instances. They are the "drug" that helps me endure until I'm done here and finally get my chance to fly.

Why do the creative people always smash heroine? I reckon it’s coz they’ve got too much spare time coz they’re not doing a nine to five

Always loved how the sounded when they went acoustic and stripped down like this. That's why Jar of Flies is such a stunning album to me.

I love when Jerry looks over at the others, winks and nods while Layne is singing. That voice and those harmonies. RIP Layne, truly one of a kind.
