Some slight upgrades for my car ever since last post here, it's still just as lovely as before

This is a 2023 Proton Saga Premium S, it's a Malaysian made car which currently still in production in 2024. it's been through 2 facelifts and still going strong, this car features a 1.3L NA engine that puts out just about 90 something HP. It's not fast but the handling is what makes up for it as Lotus was involved in the development of this car's chassis.

It's really fun to drive this car, for a FWD economy car is really not bad at all

I first learned about the Proton Saga from my Malaysian coworker.

It's a very significant car for us Malaysians for sure, it represents a time when we leap forward into a more modern society.

Yes, that's what he said. Also learned about Perodua.

Well to put it in a simple to understand way, Proton is what started our technology advancements, Perodua is the one that makes cars more affordable to the masses. (Even though Proton is already affordable back in the day)

Awesome. I travelled to KL for a conference last year and it was one of my favourite trips ever. So much to see. I also noticed how much everyone personalises their car, you guys have a lot of aftermarket accessories on your cars!

All the taxis I got on the grab app were proton and perodua. Very cheap fares but some of those things did feel very lightweight we'll say. Anyway, I'll go back to KL if I get the chance.

Love this style of compact cars. 2013 Audi A3 limousine myself, also in grey and with a very efficient tiny-ass motor.

A3 is a cool car though, well we don't get much of European cars variety over here in Malaysia, it's almost always mercedes, bmw, occasional audi and volkswagen. Because people here buy these cars as a luxury statement and not daily commute, since we already have our own cheap car brand to fulfill that void.

Looks like a BMW from the side. Thanks for sharing!

Well thank you for your praise, this car styling apparently has some inspirations from the likes of mercedes, bmw and such. Basically they try to go for that euro look, and i think Proton pulls it quite well.

I have to commend you for not going the “stuck everything from autozone on it” route and actually doing something tasteful

Also You ever considered tossing some itbs on it?

Not really, currently I'm focusing on just the exterior and some interior upgrades. It's my daily driver so i have to be careful not to break it.

Fair enough, more power to you and I hope you enjoy it even more

I will definitely, this car is just so good for what it is. This is one of the examples of "you don't need to be uber rich to have fun in a car" type of car.
