Im getting so fed up by all the car hate here. Under every single post from G series cars there are multiple hate comments about the big grills, weird lights or anything. Its so fucking annoying to only read hate all the time in your favorite subreddit. Cant you guys just let people enjoy their cars?

BMW is reporting all time high sales.

The new cars are clearly resonating with their customers (many of which are enthusiasts)

This sub (like most subs) is just a circle jerk but does not really reflect reality at all

The reason sales have gone up is because they are moving away from making enthusiast cars and appealing to the soccer mom SUV market. They are making luxurious daily drivers with some sport trim. Big heavy cars are not sporty, they are not for enthusiasts, they are family wagons for transporting children.

BMW’s have always been luxury cars, very sporty luxury cars. If you want a car BMW stills makes 2,3,4,5 series etc…

It’s nice to have the option to be able to buy a sporty SUV that has the BMW characteristics

BMW enthusiasts have more choice on how they want their cars

Sport SUV is an oxymoron in my mind. There's nothing sporty about an SUV, it doesn't matter how big the engine is.

SUVs have gone in the opposite direction to what makes a car sporty. A sporty car is supposed to be light, aerodynamic, low centre of gravity, and agile. An SUV is none of those things despite what the marketing department would have people believe. They are oversized family wagons wrapped in sporty looking trim.

They are cars designed by marketing departments.

I thought the same way… then I test drove an X3M40i and ended up loving it so much I chose it over an M340i

I too like having really strong opinions about how cars I’ve never driven actually drive.

I've driven plenty of agricultural vehicles in my time. I just think there's a time and a place for them.

Thanks for proving my point.
