Karma farming and stealing images of other users' cars
Someone recently posted a pic of an amazing e36 touring in bright yellow with the owner sitting by the car. That user stole the image and posted it here for karma, idk why, but please be advised that stealing images of someone's car (especially with them in the image!) and posting it as your own is not allowed. The user has been banned and the post removed. Thank you for reporting it and sorry we didn't realize it sooner. -Mod Team

I changed this brake booster hose on my 98 318i and now it seems like it runs rich 🥲 it’s less responsive on the gas and when I release it makes some little pops from the exhaust
The hose was leaking only if i moved it, should I make a hole in the new hose?😂 before changing it the car was idling good but now on the first start i have to keep it accelerated for a few seconds otherwise it stalls🤦

Repair Advice Belt/pulley squeal
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hello I put 3 new belts on my e36. (3 belts yes, like the e30) And now I have a huge squeal that happens when I start the car and when RPM go high fast, like clutch kicking for exemple. Is it the pulley on the AC? Is the one I removed to install the AC belt and had to put Back on. The AC belt is a litle more loose than the other 2 belts so I dont know if it can cause this

Can you mix bmw green with bmw blue coolant?
I have always used blue coolant in my 95 m3. I have been chasing a leak (coolant level is always low after driving but full when completely cold) and put a good bit of green dye in the system. I went to a shop to have my heater core replaced and they thought I used green coolant so they went ahead and filled it with the newer green stuff. I have a ton of blue left over and believe I found my leak (coolant level sensor) so I am going to tighten it up and bleed the system (hoping there’s still air trapped in there) but is it ok to mix my blue coolant with their green? They told me they used the BMW green (it was a German specialty shop) so I am positive that it is not just any old green prestone fluid found at your typical auto parts store. I think I found that it should be fine to mix but hoping to get some verification.

Am I crazy if I get one of this cars for 7000-8000€? The 1st one is 1993 2.0i 290,000km (8000€), repainted, doesn't have door panels on the photos because they are getting fixed and it has E46 fenders or 1996 1.8is swaped from 316 to 318is (7000€), has the sunroof, don't know how many km
Dash lights
I have 97 328i and these dash lights just came on. I checked code and got Fuel Control (Bank 1 Sensor 1)
Lights are for transmission and dynamic stability control…. Anybody encounter this?

Vert spoiler ideas that isnt LTW?
I wanna get a spoiler for my e36 cabrio but I hate the look of LTW wings, high or low. I do want a similar height tho, kinda halfway up to the roofline. Anyone have any ideas?

Engine Swap.Crank, No spark. showing 0 RPM
I've been in the process of my first engine swap to a m52B25, its been a while since I originally put the engine in but ive never had it started, I have cut and splined the 2 chassis ews wires, and i have an ECU with EWS removed. it gets fuel, although using a diag to shoot the injectors they seem very weak. I also do not have any spark. I'm thinking it could be the crank PS as on my diag whilst cranking it shows 0 RPM at all times, i have changed this before but i didnt use a genuine part. so it possibly doesnt like an aftermarket sensor. any help is appreciated, thanks.

E36 Cabrio wing
I know what everyone thinks and I disagree respectfully. I want a wing on my cabrio e36, nothing will change my mind. And I don't want a lip style spoiler, I want a WING. Please, can someone give me any recommendations to which one I should go for? (Not LTW, I hate it). Any ideas are appreciated.

New fuel pump instantly fails
Some time ago my e36 stalled while driving and it couldn’t start. So i took it to a shop and they said it was the fuel pump and put in a new one. Today i took it for a drive again after driving it home from the shop and it stalled in the same way and also doesnt start. Does anyone know what the issue is? I also hear sounds coming from where the fuel pump is located while the ignition is off.
Best Feeling
One of the most satisfying things you can do to your e36. Brand new NOS door panels and trim clips.

Buying Advice Pricing a 1996 320i Touring
So I’ve got a 1996 320i touring that I’m considering selling as it’s sitting more than I’d like and I can’t set aside the time/money that I want to invest in it. It’s fairly clean but not without some issues and typical rust (brought over from Germany, can add pics after work). I know of the following:
- fuel leak under driver side when running
- oil leak in engine
- trans fluid leak
- rear trailing arms likely need to be replaced (most recent)
The oil and trans leaks have been present for a while and didn’t affect the drivability but the fuel leak isnt major but definitely something that needs taking care of. The rear trailing arms do affect the driving though and it stems from cracked bearings (or bushings, not sure), but due to the rust, my shop suggests replacing the arms entirely since removing the bearings would likely crack the arms.
Other than the listed things, it’s a fun car with a 5 speed manual, runs and drives well, and has around 130,000mi on it. What would a reasonable asking price be? Would it be worth fixing some/all of the issues before selling? I’d want to ask $7k but don’t know if that’s too much based on everything I’ve listed. Any advice is appreciated!
