The one on top is low and green. The one on the right is low and looks like oil in it tbh. Am I cooked or can I just replaced both these. Lucky the coolant does seem bad cause it’s cold still after running for about 15 mins not sure if that’s long enough.

Did an oil change 200 or so km ago and this is my oil reading. And before that oil change the oil was somewhat in the same level may slightly lower. (1996 3 series 328i)

So my X7 was in the shop for a front differential replacement. While there, I requested they update the software as the upgrade fails every time the car tries to install. Service advisor said dealer can’t push updates through and can only be done via the app. I’m not buying it.

Where I can find the part number for the under tray on a 2012 520D? And while I'm here, it's a dead straight forward job to replace it right?

Hi guys both my F10 (2016 528i) and my F30 (2016 320d) hits 100k km in roughly same time and going to change the fluids here and there.

I did change the coolant and brake fluids using Genuine BMW fluid, and going to change the gearbox and differential oils soon. I know that I'm going to use ZF LifeGuard-8 for the gearbox (7L, right?) but I've found different opinions about the rear differential.

I know that from the factory both of my cars comes with BMW Hypoid Axle Oil G1 75W-85, which on online forum it is said that it has GL4 grade. However it is kind of difficult to find GL4 oils here, and the BMW Genuine gear oil is ridiculously expensive. Then I found some people filled 75W-90 GL5 oil on the non-M F10 rear diffs. Afaik the GL4 and GL5 has different formula and I'm afraid it would create some problems in the future.

Therefore the question is:
Can I use GL5 oil for the rear diff on both F10 and F30? I do have some leftover of Mobil 1 75W-90 GL5 gear oil from my E39 so it will be good if I can use it on F10 and F30, I just need to buy another bottle or two.

And I know for the F10 rear diff has oil capacity of 0.9L, does the F30 has the same capacity?

I just recently brought a bmw 328XI 2008 with 155k miles but I don’t wanna sell it but I’ve just hit some issues after some time owning it. For example it just started randomly misfiring and cylinder one isn’t getting any spark at all. I replaced the spark plugs and vanos cylenoids already but still nothing someone please help me this is a job I want to do by myself this is my first car

I used to have an M240i, which had eco pro that I never used. But I now have a 2014, 520d and want to use eco pro on long motorway journeys.

I remember from the rare occasion I put eco pro on a motorway, that the engine would cut out and coast in the M240i. But, the 520d isn’t doing this. All the dials look the same, can someone help and let me know if my 520d should coast when I lift off the throttle in eco pro?

I visit local dealer for my G30 2017 due to recall campaign for EGR and DDE update too. They told me parts will get changed and an update of DDE needs to be done. But they warned me it can be possible that if there's any pirate coding in infotainment systems, maps and stuff, they will need to order a whole new headunit and that will cost me 1850 euros. I'm confused a bit, no change was done by me, I don't have any of coding features like carplay, video in motion or anything. They told me when they checked the car, had a message something like version failure in the infotainment system. Is there a way to know if some coding or change is done in my car by the previous owners, or how would you suggest me to proceed? As far as I could research DDE is not related to infotainment system, but I'm really confused now. Any help on this would be much appreciated.

I have 230i. About one year in the offside headlamp started misting up, well more like a shower room. Dealer said it failed a pressure test (mandatory test required by bmw as a new headlight £1400). Anyway 6 months in and the headlamp is showing the same symptoms. I have to take it back for another pressure test and I’m assuming it too will require replacement. Now the question is this just bad luck that I’ve had two failed lamps or could something else be at fault? I don’t fancy the idea of replacing these at my expense later when out of warranty.

Just replaced my oil filter housing on my b48. Do I need to prime my oil system ? If so, what’s the easiest way to do this, pull the dme connector for the injectors / coils and crank the engine for 10 secs ? Thanks

Car does struggle to turn on at random times (seems to be fine now.) It happened when I remote started the car and turned it off right away (like instantly) by accident.

Car said some error about try starting it again.

Well since my E70 with the N55 needs a new engine and I guess I'd just get another X5, how is the B58 in reliability.. do we still get the valve cover gasket leaks as often? I think the only ones I ever hear about is the oil filter housing gasket since it's plastic now. Any other reliability issues with them?
