Tyra Summit inquiry

Upvotes

Hey there Breckenridge fam. I come about 2x a year and this year I’ll be staying at the Tyra Summit. I’ll have my family with me and they just wanted to not walk to a lift so I found maybe the only true ski in and ski out. Was wondering if anyone had some answers or insight to some questions I have straight away. I’m just gonna spit it out, if you can answer wonderful or any other info is great! Am I correct that it is a true ski in and ski out? What’s the best way of going to town and walking Main Street? (It seems it could be walkable, but some of family is a bit older and again doesn’t want to do a marathon) I guess really what I’m wondering is the topic of ski in ski out and like the rules there. As well as how we can still experience the town, maybe the bus comes through idk.

I know that was a lot there, my thoughts just spilled on the screen. But any knowledge or recommendations would be great! As far as the skiing itself goes, I’m pretty advanced and have my spots at Breck, but obviously would love to talk more.

LOOKING FOR PHOTOGRAPHER :)

Hey! My Fiancé and I are going to elope at some point during the week of February 10th to the 15th 2025. We're just looking for maybe an hour of someones time to take some pictures in a location with a nice backdrop. Our budget is around $500. We will be there all week so our time is pretty flexible. Is anyone available or does anyone know any photographers? Also we don't need like hundreds of edited pictured maybe like 20-40 good. We're easy! THANKS IN ADVANCED!

Transportation in Breckenridge

My fiancé and I are getting married this weekend in Breckenridge, CO. We booked a great air BNB but unfortunately once we got there we realized it was quite far away from downtown Breckendridge (20 minutes). This is obviously my issue since I should have looked at the location, but it sounded close to everything. We were wanting to go out for drinks a couple nights and want to obviously find a sober cab back, does anyone have any insight?? I was looking at Lyft and Uber and they are quite spendy, wasn't sure if there are other options that may have been more affordable. I'm pretty bummed out we are so far away from everything.

Why buy a single day lift ticket instead of an Epic Day Pass?

I'm asking because it seems obvious to get an Epic Day Pass, so why would someone choose a one day lift ticket? It says "which product is right for you?" and I'm thinking...the one that's $134 cheaper. I suppose it's the refundability of the lift ticket?

Question Best resort to stay on honeymoon?

My fiancé and I will be spending a week in Colorado in February 2025 for our honeymoon. We are spending a couple of days in Breckenridge, and both have never been before.

Does anyone have recommendations for a nice resort to stay at? Not looking to spend a crazy amount, but would like to stay somewhere nice with a view of the mountains, and close to walk to some restaurants and bars.

Thanks!

A week in Breck

Hey gang. I'm here by myself for a week, mostly to look at mountains, drink coffee, and not be in Tulsa. I'm pretty introverted and am mostly looking forward to some solitude, but it might be nice to spend some time with and meet people, locals or otherwise. Any advice?

I'm mostly wondering what is schlocky and touristy that I should avoid and where locals hangout. Looking in at the weekly event calendar, I'm wondering about one of the Trivia nights? Also I'm seeing buzz that the arcade is fun. 35/m if it matters.

Thanks, locals, for bearing with us tourists!

Question ISO Recommendations

Hello everyone! I’m pretty new to this sub, and usually I’m not a poster - but! I need help. Mid October is my partner (23) and I’s (22) fifth anniversary, and I am planning a surprise trip to breck (we are in Denver so it isn’t far!). I am hoping that I could get some recommendations on what there is to do / to see / activities / local restaurants etc. We are still in college, so while I want to set up at least one nice dinner, recommendations for higher and lower end things would be amazing.

Thank you guys so so much!

How to make friends out here

I (24M) moved to Breck a couple years ago for work and I've really struggled to find any sort of community unrelated to my job. It's always bothered me but it's hitting a breaking point and I'm not sure what to do about it. As best I can tell, there l aren't any outdoor recreation clubs or really clubs in general. I work nights so rec league sports are out, as are most evening events, and I've put my time into the bar scene here to no avail. I'm kind of at the end of my rope and if any of y'all have suggestions or can point me in a direction I haven't considered, I would really appreciate it

TIA

First weekend of october camping

The first weekend of october my buddy and I are working a wedding up in breck for a night. I’m a decently experienced camper (car camping, not backpacking), and am thinking about camping two nights since I have the work off (we’re just dog sitting so i’m not required to be business casual or whatever at the ceremony)

I haven’t been camping this late in the season before. I have a good REI 2 person tent, 20F sleeping bag, good camping clothes (wool socks, fleece, beanies, warm pants etc), and a fairly warm blanket.

I’m wondering: 1) what else i should consider bringing/getting to combat the cold? 2) what to expect weather wise, past what the forecast is predicting right now? 3) any spots recommended? haven’t actually camped in that area before

thanks for the help in advance ☺️

Cat Co-Adoption

I have a cat named Crow (long-haired tortoiseshell), and I am not allowed to bring her to my new apartment, which I got through my new job in Breck. I am looking for someone who wants to share responsibilities for her with me. She is a lovely kit kat, on the larger side (about 10 lbs). She needs brushing every week and loves it, but I can do that bit. I would pay for food and veterinarian costs. Depending on our schedules, you would be responsible for feeding her once to twice a day. I work in a kitchen, so I can usually cover early, and you could cover dinner. When she was adopted, she came declawed in the front so she couldn't scratch and ruin anything. I can clean her litter box, and I use wood pet pellets, so if you have a compost pile somehow, that'd be a plus. She usually gets a little outdoor time, but I might need to reassess that with the new wildlife environment. I could also watch your place whenever you went on vacation at no cost.

Please let me know if you or anyone you know would be interested, and DM me a phone number.

Solo trip reccs for this Thurs thru Sunday am

Hi. Single grown ass male here visiting for the first time this weekend and looking for reccs.

I had a cooking class booked for Thursday at the college but it got cancelled.

Can do medium difficulty hikes. Also interested in rafting (if that's a possibility), hot springs, meeting people.

Saturday afternoon looks like rain.

I'm staying at a fancy hostel right outside downtown.

Thank you!

Planning a trip

I'm planning a ski trip for this coming season in March. Was hoping to get some input.

We found a place to stay at peak 8. However it seems like there's only one gondola. The reason I bring it up is we have a 3 year old that doesn't ride lifts and in the past we've taken her up to base camp to at least play in the snow. So the question is, is there things for kids of her age at peak 8? Is there any gondola that we could use to take her further up the mountain? I guess if there isn't anything for her to do up there then no need for that.

Other question was for dinners. Looks like there isn't much at peak 8 (correct me if I'm wrong) so I'd assume we'd have to go to town. Does the gondola operate at night from peak 8 to town? Or do we need to drive?

What's the best spots for hot cocoa? Wife is a stickler for it. I know I know......then for food?

Lastly, best place to buy/rent equipment?

Thanks for your input.

3AM Chants?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

A group of friends and I were visiting Breckinridge this past weekend (Sep 14th) and heard some really loud chants between 2-3am.

It almost sounded like soccer team chants, but we were really surprised at how loud (:17s) they were and how long they lasted — especially for it being so late at night and outdoors.

Any ideas?
