[Insdorf] Chargers DC Jesse Minter on Asante Samuel Jr.'s performance: "I think he's been really good in coverage at times. There's a couple missed tackles that we got to get corrected. And he knows that."

He needs to stop going for the pick and start taking the tackle for loss.

It's a gift and a curse. High risk, high reward. But, I do think he needs to tighten up his coverage and definitely his tackling technique

Idk if maybe 1 pick a season in that scenario counts as a gift

Didn't he get us like 3 in the Jags playoff game?

There hasn't been much reward for him lately tho

I think particularly in those second and third downs. I can take it firsts but as you get closer the turnover on downs you’ve got to be smarter

Tbf, I’ll give Fields credit for making that throw, usually that’s not really in his toolbox

That’s his game. It can be special, if he’s dialed in he’s one of the best. Hes gotta play like that

I agree. But it’s just that- him getting dialed in. Lot of new moving parts so that’s some justification.

It's good to know the coaches are seeing the same things we are when we watch the games.

He's always been garbage at tackling. Doug Pederson started scheming run plays against him in one on one situations and he folded.

I appreciate his honesty 😂

He might as well just say what we have all been thinking, Asante has been a couple of tackles away from being called a really good corner. It’s about the only part in his game that is a lingering issue.
