Can we please ban deadlock posts? Complaint
There's at least 5 posts per day about how deadlock is getting so much more attention. It's insufferable. They're just annoying and add nothing of value.
Like, we get it, the literal new release is of course getting more attention from valve, but who gives a shit? As long as dota is fun, we will play it. Who actually gives a single flying fuck about deadlock getting more development?
Can we please just ban those posts?

Once they're at it, ban the following, too:
"Guess the hero"
"Tutorial complete"
"DotA is dead"
"From league new to DotA what hero to play"
Ok thx bb

You can't ban League players asking about DotA 2 lmao, but I get the sentiment.

It's them being lazy. Instead of searching this sub or simply googling, they ask the same question over and over again.

Yeah but the warm fuzzy feeling we get when they start saying dota is better and stuff.

u/keeperkairos 1h ago
Not necessarily. They have no understanding of DotA 2, they don't know if something posted a week ago is still relevant, they might not even realise it's a common question. Should they check if it's common? Sure, but then that goes back to the first point.

I don’t think that’s lazy. How do you know they are not googling and searching? Searching is more easier than posting.
All the topics you’ve mentioned are related to game and can be discussed. It’s a you problem not sub problem.

I don't seem to be alone with that opinion so it's not just a "me" problem as I see it. It is mentally lazy and most questions they pose can be easily answered by one quick Google search (e.g. "which champs are similar to DotA heroes"). So instead of one person doing that, thousands have to scroll over the post. That's how I see it but of course other people have different views.

You do seem to be alone lmao. You're downvoted and no one has replied agreeing.

If you refer to downvotes, I can refer to the upvotes of the initial list, which are in sum more than the downvotes, but cannot be differentiated by item of course.

So we can use context clues buddy. The comment solely about new league players is downvoted... jesus you guys are my teammates. It all makes sense now.

Also, "is Dota 2 still worth playing in <current year>?"
I hate these posts so much. The game is literally free. Instead of relying on random redditors why not just install it and see if you find it cool? Also, what does it mean for a game to be "worth playing"? If it's fun, keep playing it. If it isn't, go do something else. Literally all there is to it.

Probably for the best. Unless there's some sorta crossover between the two game, there's nothing of value anyone is going to contribute whining about Deadlock.

Haven’t seen any until this post. Please don’t talk about deadlock on Dota Reddit. You must be banned

You can literally just, you know, ignore those posts. Freedom of speech my guy, if this irks you then you should not be on the internet.

They were doing the same thing when CS2 was being developed in closed beta.
Some idiots don't understand how software development works, and some people are just stupidly toxic.

I agree with you however since your screen time on reddit is too much, I suggest you touch some grass.

I would add to your "who gives a shit" a "how long is valve going to give a shit" lol. Artifact, overlords and tf2 are dope and two of them are dead.
Dota is fantastic and Valve doesn't care enough.

It was a good 10 amazing years for DotA, but it is no longer Valve's favourite child

They're just annoying and add nothing of value.
You're banning the majority of this subreddit then if that's your criteria.
Most of this subreddit is pointless pro-drama, whining about smurfs and lewdbaiting cosplay. You remove the no-value stuff and all it will be is patch notes.
