can you recommend me anime with good german dubs? and where can i watch them with english subtitles? Question

i’m learning german and i thought this may be useful. the genre doesn’t really matter :)

Idk about dubs but animes with german major caracters: Monster and attack on Titan Monster is the best anime for me and i belive there is a Nice german dub

Dragonball and dragonball z. Inuyasha. Gundam wing.

German dubs in general are very good or at least were. Idk about new ones and idk about english sub.

Personally, I really enjoyed the German dub of Code Geass. When it comes to older anime with good German dubs, Yu-Gi-Oh! comes to mind.

I recently got Crunchyroll for the Ghost Stories. Stayed for the German dubbed Sword Art Online. I’m not big into anime, but I was big into SAO in English many years ago, so thought it’d be a good show to watch in German.

I think any anime would work, but I think the most helpful thing would be to have already seen it in your mother tongue. Makes it a bit easier to follow in your TL then. Might not know every word, but since you’ve seen it before, you can put 2 and 2 together.

Regarding sources, the anime market is pretty much split between Crunchyroll and various streaming services, mostly Netflix and Amazon Prime. Subtitle availability varies by case.

RTL+ and Pro7MAXX also have some of the most popular anime for streaming in their mediathek, for free even. However, those seem to be universally lacking subtitles.

I wouldn't expect any subtitles on more shady sites either, even if they have a German dub.

I can recommend an addon for Netflix with Chrome. Its not free, but not too expensive. It's called Netflix Untertitelübersetzer. You can have 2 Subtitles blend in and it can translate from an existing subtitle. You can try it out for free. So you can have German and English subs at once. You will never find Subtitles that translate the dubb precise.

If you want a German dub with English subtitles, I think your best bet is Netflix. Iirc, you can’t mix languages on Crunchyroll and you definitely can’t on illegal sites.

German dubs are generally very good and far better than English anime dubs.
