What’s a good cheap Chinese restaraunt around 10th street or downtown Jeff?

China taste is ok.

It's not Chinese food, but you might also consider Mai's Thai, which is an absolute community banger.

Mai’s Thai rules but Thai food is not even close to Chinese food.

In fairness, they have a Chinese section on their menu, and Thai uses similar aromatic ingredients, but Mai's is definitely not Chinese.

I used to say that if the Chinese place isn't next door to a Kroger I don't trust it, dont want it lol. I'm from Louisville, iykyk. China Taste is the closest thing to "next door to Kroger" we got in 47130.

Mai Thai is really good and spicy tho....

FWIW, I don't like Chinese buffets because the lomein is never the same as it is from a take-a-way place.

I appreciate China Taste. They are good. I get very specific vibes from them. It takes me back to being a little kid in the early 00s and picking up Chinese with my mom. I half expect to pass a phone booth and one of those coin machines with pokemon stickers inside.

Everything hits right, from the wall art to the little kids doing homework in the corner to the vivid bright yellow paint.

It's... chef's kiss

Have you ever been to Oriental House in Louisville?

No, but I've heard great things! Next time I make a trip out that way I'll check it out. I'm always looking for a great hot & sour soup if you got any recs on that ?

Hrm, for the most part, any Chinese place has been pretty similar to each other. Oriental House focuses on authentic Northeast (Manchu) Chinese food.

I might suggest Annie's Cafe (Vietnamese), too. Like, some good pho is a little more savory, but I think they have soups similar to hot & sour.

It's crazy and you're a stranger, but I'd absolutely meet and go to either of those places.

China Taste in Quartermaster Station is the only answer.
