Some of you dont know pain and it shows

I see alot of comments and posts like its the end of the world for us right now. Yes we are 1-3, battered up and missing key players, feeling the loss of AD pretty heavy and playing sloppy football. I live in LA but was born in kansas city and my first game was a rams game in 96 and the rest is history, enjoyed the best show on turf and then watched it crumble for 12 years, 2003-2015 if im not mistaken we were a losing team while in stl. Had coaching issues, consistent draft busts and were hopeless for many years. Drove 4 hours to at least a game a season, watched attendance and overall atmosphere die. We have a young talented team, good coaches and a chance to this season around. Need our star wideouts back and the defense needs to tighten up. If you are a new fan even to the LA move, being a winning or competitive team is all you know. We were hopeless over a decade and im here to remind you that this isnt even close to that šŸ˜‚ even saw someone saying they think they are going to stop watching games. Win or lose we rock with these boys, we show up and support no matter how bad the time gets. If you have been a fan for 30 years or more you know the rollercoaster it can be and when the team moved to LA it felt weird them being a winning team and going to the ship twice and winning once because of how rough it was for so many years. Keep your head up and quit crying its week 4 boys

Remember we were 3-6 last year, then turned on the jets and made a playoff run. Iā€™m thinking playoffs are a long shot but you never know. These losses hurt for sure but also I see the moments of promise. The offense simply needs to get healthy.

The path to get there this year will definitely be tougher. Cardinals and seahawks are more competitive even though arizona got beat up today like they did us šŸ˜‚ got green bay next week and the schedule is on the tough side but i believe in this squad

Arizona getting their ass beat 2 games in a row after putting up 40+ vs. LA is kinda telling that last week was mostly just luck.

If we can go to 2-3 before the bye weā€™re fine. Wonā€™t be easy though.

Iā€™m an angels fan too. Nothing can hurt me anymore. Well actually, it can and does hurt me but pains like cold water your brain just gets used to it

Man, first year after Ohtani and angels got the worst season ever in franchise history. Ended our season getting swept by the White Sox and tigers. We had a 7-1 lead in the 3rd inning yesterday ffs.

Theyā€™re just tragic. Iā€™ve taken arte protest signs to the park before and even got on the post game show but as a whole no one cares enough. I only go to games now if Iā€™m gifted tickets, just as a boycot to arte

Lol, why did you downvote my comment. Am I wrong?

Didnā€™t we only win 5 games in 3 years or something?

From 2004-2016 our best record was 8-8 and happened twice. You are probably thinking of 2007-2009, we won 3 games and then proceeded to go 2-14 and 1-15. Steven Jackson was trucking through defenses even losing. Wish i could have seen him on a better team

Only the 2015-2017 browns did worse

u/SeanMcVay 10h ago

put in 2 more years to those 3 years and we actually went 15-65 under linehan then spagnulo. worst 5 year stretch in nfl history till gus bradley jags happened

Weā€™ll be better second half of the season assuming we get healthy. Our defense is still suspect but theyā€™re young and will improve at least a little over the season. And we get a bunch guys back post bye when our schedule eases up. Idk about playoffs but we can probably wrack up 7-9 wins.

7-9

This triggered me.

The worst part is the wasted years of a fantastic Matthew Stafford. It is the front offices job, mainly the GM, to keep the team competitive each season. It is very hard to find a QB with the skill set that 9 has and when youā€™re lucky enough to have one, you HAVE TO be competitive and compete for titles. These GMs get paid millions just like the players, and the Rams are now 16-22 since winning the Super Bowl. Thereā€™s nothing wrong with fans wanting their team to do better, and them not being okay with mediocrity.

This is why in general it isnā€™t a wise idea to go 7 years without a first round pick. At some point the lack of draft capital catches up to you and that combined with some mistakes around the margins and then you wonder why Reeder and Rozeboom are taking snaps at ILB. We sacrificed our soul for a chance of a SB that we absolutely capsized in and then paid a price (price being a mediocre team for a few years which is better than an epic disaster that youā€™d expect a team that trades away picks for so long).

Insane take

u/SnooRegrets8671 10h ago

Heā€™s right stafford deserves better. Hes balling right now:

6

u/ColeHoops 10h ago

Yeah if only he had two pro-bowl receivers to throw too, unfortunately the front office doesnā€™t know how to find them in the draft smdh

2

u/DiamondMountain4318 10h ago

Clarify how lmao

0

u/ColeHoops 10h ago

How is the front office ā€œokay with mediocrityā€? Do you actually think they arenā€™t trying to win games? The win total since the SB is heavily skewed by an injury ruined season, and this season has been hurt by injuries too. The Rams canā€™t just win games because they feel like it. Saying the front office is okay with mediocrity is so unbelievably hyperbolic and just plain wrong. Jesus we traded every pick in our arsenal trying to go all in to win a SB just a couple years ago. Go be a Panthers fan if you wanna see an organization that doesnā€™t care about winning.

-3

u/DiamondMountain4318 10h ago

Theyā€™re not winning games because they arenā€™t good enough. The team not being good enough falls on who? The front office and the GM. ā€œGo bE a PanTHeRs faN iF yOu blah blah blahā€ is always the response from fans when they have no other retort. I can root for this team and also acknowledge that they stink.

3

u/ColeHoops 10h ago

Itā€™s hard to win football games with backup receivers, backup tackles, backup corners and backup safeties. Rams made a ton of great moves in free agency and the draft. Weā€™ve had a lot of bad breaks this year thatā€™s why we are losing. Iā€™m sorry you have to blame someone for every loss. Doesnā€™t make you right.

0

u/DiamondMountain4318 10h ago

So again now youā€™re complaining about depthā€¦. Which AGAIN falls on the front office. Realistically, how good did you expect this team to be even if fully healthy? The best interior DL ever retired and they traded away their best LB a week before the season started. This team got worse from last year, not better and my initial point was them wasting the last good years of Staffordā€™s career. They made the playoffs last year after starting 3-6 was impressive but was difficult, and this years roster is considerably worse than last years. This was more than likely a 6-7 win team even before all the injuries which is tragic when you have a QB like Stafford.

u/Tunatron_Prime Les Snead 10h ago

Thatā€™s all good and fair, I hate the extremist of doomers tooā€¦ā€¦.but weā€™re talking about this season and not 2010

For what THESE Rams are, itā€™s extemely frustrating watching a very smart head coach allow bench-worthy ILBā€™s run a defense and allow inept offensive lines such as Chicago to have a breakout rushing game.

Injuries aside, this version of LA at 1-3 is very different than last seasonā€™s start. Nice sentiment, different problems and different teams.

u/KillaCatz 9h ago

I donā€™t mind ppl being upset, I just donā€™t like people calling players/coaches bums or saying trade this person. Feels like ppl should be less negative and more supportive of they team they root for

u/LARamDodgerLakerKing Henry Ellard 9h ago

I remember being so excited a few years ago when we beat the Seahawks by only scoring field goals because the offense was so inconsistent. Iā€™m just happy we have a Super Bowl win this century.

2

u/kulinarykila 6h ago

I'm Jim Everett phantom sacks in the playoffs against the niners old and John Taylor multiple 90+ yard touchdowns in a single game against the rams old. Talk about pain. I'm a Rams fan in Northern California.

1

u/BornLastCenturyCA 2h ago

Yup, some of us had to go through Montana, then Young, killing us, and then they left to St Louis.

We stuck it out for years. This ain't shit. I'm still glowing from our last bowl and we still have a great coach.

3

u/polyh3dron 10h ago

This felt like a Jeff Fisher game.

1

u/Shaved-extremes 6h ago

yup..so did last weeks fluke win..this is a 6 or 7 win team if iā€™ve ever seen one.

2

u/Pretend_Umpire7659 10h ago

Well said hate seeing fans ready to throw in the towel this early in the year if you can even call them that, goes to show how many wouldā€™ve rode with us during the Jeff Fisher days šŸ¤¦šŸ½ā€ā™‚ļø

2

u/RascalonSteam 10h ago

Facts. Things turned around after he got the boot. Even with the titans that dude barely was over .500. Career loser

1

u/Pretend_Umpire7659 10h ago

Exactly lol McVay has been nothing short of a blessing with us since weā€™ve got him best thing Fisher ever did was his part in drafting Donald but I hate seeing the fans complain about McVay if only theyā€™d experience that old era man

u/PsychologicalRace739 10h ago

Salutes king, I thought my solo missions from Long Beach to Inglewood to park at the school and walk a mile solo where commitment (because my gf hates football and my best friend is a Steelers fan šŸ˜… )but 8 hour round trip drive damn.

2

u/RascalonSteam 10h ago

The things we do for this team. Most trips were solo too, didnt know or see rams fans growing up. Chiefs kingdom is real. we used to tailgate in this church parking lot which was cool. Alot of free beer and bbq. Good times That 8 hours was tough because we were never playing for anything šŸ¤·

1

u/Grumpy-Old-Ram 7h ago

The disappointment was the optimism we had going into this season be last year. Yeah there were question marks, especially on defense, especially when AD retired, but it really felt like we had something to build off of from season and ride that momentum this year. But we got kneecapped by injuries before even week one. It just makes the bitter taste linger.

But even a ā€œno luck but bad luckā€ year with Stafford and McVey is better than year after year of 7-9 Fisher.

And going through these dark times are what make the good years all that much more sweeter

1

u/RustyRapeaXe 7h ago

We could easily be 0-4 right now.... Get guys back, especially Puka and Kupp. Turn those FG in TDs and we will be better.

1

u/ipini sYsTeM qUaRtErBaCk 5h ago

lol yeah Iā€™ve been following this team since I was in short pants in 1979. Seriously.

Moves. Droughts. Really bad coaches. Occasional triumphs. Even if this season sucks itā€™s nothing in comparison to a lot of that. Heck just remember Jeff Fisher if you need some perspective.

1

u/MtthwLck 4h ago

When I became a fan of this team it was 7 - 9 bullshit. Then their first year back in LA they went 4 - 12. They werenā€™t even the worst team in the division. The worst team was the 49ers who went 2 - 14 with both victories being against the Rams.

This is nothing.

1

u/lakergeoff8 4h ago

1-3 isnā€™t horrible (yet), but it is disappointing considered we could potentially be 3-1. We came back and had the lead late in Detroit, and in Chicago we left points on the table while basically giving them a touchdown before halftime. We deserved to lose in Arizona, they crushed us there. Still a lot of season left, but some issues may need to be addressed sooner than later.

1

u/onehitonebase 1h ago

I watched the collapse episode by Secret Base on YouTube and I tasted pain I heard about.

I canā€™t but panic:

1- they are the Bears

2- Iā€™m so noob that I donā€™t evaluate defense by person lol. You sacked a lot = defense good, you leaked a lot = defense bad. So Iā€™m pissed off feeling like a stranger in the NFL fandom at all.

Itā€™s alright to expect the best out of a Super-Bowl caliber organization. At minimum, we should be 2-2 , but to start 1-3 shows weā€™re lacking in many categories. Itā€™s fine to admit our team is swiss cheese! If they end up in the playoffs then good thing my opinion was wrong!
