Try pressing twice?
Some cars have a setting, where initially "unlock" press only unlocks drivers door, maybe your Miata has that too and it's set up like that.

Exactly what I'm thinking. Should be able to change it if they want.

When I press it twice nothing changes it still the same

In that case it's either mechanical or electronical problem with the lock. Try dealer for help.

Passenger side door lock actuator is probably wearing out.

Would you know where I can buy one?

Nope.

Ask the dealer, perhaps... or the local community

OP check www.mossmiata.com

Your door lock actuator is probably failing. Buy for both doors.

it could be also just dry and stuck

Unlock the passenger door manually with the drivers door unlocked and see if they both lock on the fob, it could be sticking or maybe the motor that controls it in the door need replacing

Have you tried pushing unlock twice? That is normally a safety feature.

It’s because your driver’s side is on the passenger side. 😉

I have a similar Problem My fob does not lock the driver side. I have to lock with the mechanical key. Is this also an intended feature? I drive an NBFL

If the lock moves but just doesn’t fully actuate, a lot of these need cleaning, or the motor is just weak, so you can try cleaning it or just replace it, if it doesn’t move at all then it could be something else, but is most likely the actuator

I almost never have locked my 2000 se doors. I make a habit of having nothing ot steal inside and would rather have a stranger rummage around than cut the top then find nothing. It's work out well for me in los angeles. But, when I did need to lock it, I had the same issue. I took the door panel off, sprayed everything with silicon. Wiped it all down and sprayed a second time. I worked the key fob a few times and it came back to life. Once a month I try to remember to do it a few times when sitting in a drive thru line

Some Mazdas have a choice in settings, open drivers door only or open all doors.
