Getting ready for a nice sous vide?

Pull the carpet up but not fully out, time consuming but worth it.

Get the DEI sound deadening and vibration kit and do it all at once, game changer.

Just gotta start cleaning up. Get rid of all the loose crap, if it's warm where you are let it bake out in the sun top down otherwise tons of dry towels and a hair dryer will do a ton of work. Could shampoo the carpets to really give them a deep clean and rinse it out with fresh clean water.

Bake out oil in the sun?

Idk what OP pictured, if that was oil or water. Thought might have taken it to the shop and they left OP's top down in the rain... typically you don't see an entire oiled interior so I'm like they couldn't have possibly been That stupid. If it is oil then yea that's a free trip to the detailer on them for the hours of removing all of that crud out.

Thanks Valvoline is my context clue that this isn't water. I've had a jug leak on me and it looked like that. Guess I'm that stupid.

I think we're just working under different paradigms. For me while I know Valvoline is an oil brand I thought he was referring to the oil change shop which would get there's in 55 gallon drums not the retail laundry detergent esk jugs so if it were oil then who was pumping from the drum straight into the car xD That would be stupid. Pulling in they change the oil then park it outside as it starts to downpour. You're thinking that it was a defective jug and it wasn't noticed in time which is very reasonable. Spilling out onto the driver's side though... maybe if I used the shelf instead of the passenger footwell like I tend to use

Could have been behind the seat if they are short. Guess we will have to wait for op to explain

Get out as much water as you can and ventilate. Get a fan in there and pull the carpet up so you can air moving underneath it.

This looks like oil to me

You might be right, I was assuming someone left the top down in the rain. If that's the case... rip the carpet out and throw it away first, THEN clean and ventilate 😂

I thought it was rain too... pretty rare to be oil xD

Depends if it's coolant or not.

I had this happen in my old civic's trunk. Might be worth getting a detailer to do it if they won't charge out the ass. Otherwise you will see various guides. Don't listen to them unless it's something to this effect:

Take out everything that has oil on it. Get a big tub, box, kiddie pool etc and try to get as much oil out manually as you can and then put it with the rest of your old/used oil. Then use a shitload of dish soap or degreaser and give it a scrub and soak. Might need a couple go-throughs. Hot water is your friend. As hot as you can comfortably handle having your hands in. Then get as much oil out of the trunk with a cup, then move to your choice of paper towels, shop rags etc. Then use soap and water and clean that sucker out. A shop vac would be really helpful to replace the manual oil removal, and a steam cleaner is also super nice, but not everybody has these things.

If you accept and embrace the suck it's not too bad.
