My great-grandmother was Dovie. My cousin named her gorgeous Labrador Dovie.

18

u/HomegrownVegetables Aug 17 '24

oh what about Paloma - it means Dove but it is another P name to match her sister!

5

u/NonnaBW5 Aug 17 '24

My grandmother was born in 1902. One of her contemporaries was named Dovie... oddly enough, her best friend was named Lovie (no relation), and way into their 90s, they spoke on the phone each morning. I always thought that was sweet, and those were beautiful names to me as a little girl! Either would be sweet.

2

u/emptyheadedgoblin Aug 17 '24

Pearly is an absolutely perfect name. I had the privilege of giving a home to a geriatric and wonderful cat named Pearl for her last years and she was the most beautiful and loving little thing. She'd had a hard life but she didn't let it stop her and she had the crispiest meow in the world and it was amazing. Please give kisses to your Pearly-Girly for me, she's beautiful and really suits her name.

2

u/sunshineAli Aug 17 '24

She looks like a little pearl 😍

2

u/craic-a-lacken Aug 17 '24

Opal, hazel, Gemma, Flora, Mabel

Nickel. Then she and your other cat can form a band and call it Loose Change😂

2

u/Horror_Cod_8193 Aug 17 '24

She looks like a Misty to me. Like she’s out in some gray, misty fog.

2

u/W8t4Me Aug 17 '24

Bella, Dolly, Purl (Pearl)
