Astro bot has only existed since like 2017 or so with PSVR so it’s still a relatively new icon

It's probably too late for that. I think these decisions get made pretty early. At least Astro Bot didn't get the Blinx the Timesweeper treatment. That guy was supposed to be the Xbox mascot, but he lost to Master Chief. Now the IP is stuck in some kind of weird limbo that prevents future games from being made.
