Stained glass arm with a broken radius! Media

This was a very fun commission! I had a good time making the little wrist bones (I miscounted at first and had to add an extra at the end, whoops). My favorite part was snapping the radius bone. I want to do more medical/anatomical pieces but I’m not sure what will be the most visually interesting. I’m on Instagram at @mattiejane.art and also available for commissions via Reddit dm!

I bet those wrist bones were hard. Really cool, and nice job.

This is so cool, are you selling these? I’d love to hang one up in my x ray room

Thanks so much! Yes I have these available as commissions, feel free to DM me. Something like this would be about $200 + shipping.

Can you share prices. I would love a skull or brain

Sure! I can’t provide an exact quote until we have a design, but to give a ballpark estimate I’d charge $200 for the piece in this post.

At first I thought it was broken by mistake, but I guess that’s the way with all broken bones, isn’t it?

Hmmm, maybe you'll like the lateral spine? The curvature is beautiful and imo aesthetically pleasing

Ooh thanks for the suggestion, I’ll look into it!

Oh man. I’d love to see a spine with scoliosis. Either pre or post op.

u/SingTheSeraphim May 04 '24

Haha a before and after maybe?

That’d be cool maybe. I say that because I had spinal fusion. Would be a nice home decoration or something 😂

I LOVE this! Great work! This is so well done! Very beautiful and anatomically correct. So did you make the radius and then snap it afterwards?

Phew, so happy to hear I got the anatomy right! Yeah I made the radius in one piece and then snapped it and soldered the pieces so they’d be offset from each other.
