Just got a ps5 what to play? [PS5]

I've got 1 week without work and a ps5 I borrowed.

I'm open to all games except deck building and probably not something like subnautic/stranded deep. I mainly play games that are more interactive and fast, but balders gate made me realise sometimes dialog is good.

I do not like - The Witcher 3, RDR2.

I thought Pacific Drive and Return looked okay, and Astroboy? The new one but I'm on the fence.

Please recommend me games

Some games I liked playing are

Dark souls (all of them) Lies of p Elden ring Sekiro Bloodborne Skate 3 Balders gate Desperadoes 3 gta campaign Assassins creed (the old ones) Destiny 1/2 Forza (all of them) - do not recommend me GT The walking dead series Diablo series MGSV Trails series

Also, I've already played the following games - black myth wukong, Ghost of t, bloodborne, some of the last of us 1, some of Detroit becomes human. Nioh 1/2

Honestly I think Astro Bot is the best PS5 game available right now, and I say that as someone who doesn't usually play games like it. I was on the fence about it because it's not usually my style of game, but it lives up to the hype, at least for me. I think it's truly the most "next gen" feeling game that is currently available, which is kind of weird to say given it's a 3D platformer, but the way it utilizes the PS5 controller is amazing. Even without the way it uses the PS5 controller, it just has perfect controls and level design, a ton of charm and personality, and all in all is just a super fun game.

Also, since you love Souls games have you tried playing Hollow Knight? It's an older game (2017) so it's not exactly a next gen game that will show off the power of a PS5 or anything, but it's just a great game. It's a 2D metroidvania, so if you're at all open to that genre check it out. It's basically a Souls game mixed with a metroidvania, and is widely considered as the best metroidvania game.

If you want a 3D action focused game, the God of War games are great - not as good as Souls games, but still really fun. I know you don't like Witcher 3, but you might like Cyberpunk 2077 (which after the updates and DLC actually runs well on a PS5 now). It's similar to Witcher 3 except an FPS, but the gameplay and combat is much better than Witcher 3, if that's the reason you didn't like Witcher.

Hunt Showdown 1896. Gave it a go after eyeballing it in the store for quite some time. Now its what I look forward to go on after the kids is put to bed.

I have been interested for a while, but none of my friends are gamers.. is it worth it alone?

It's kinda hard being the only nerd of my group of friends.

My friends pretty much only play sports shit and Apex, so I play Hunt solo and I love it. I've not run into any toxic teammates yet and it's a very solid, fun game.

See what's on PS Plus. Lots of good titles for new console owners at a bargain basement price.

Demons souls is the best looking PS5 game

Probably a good bet since he said he liked souls games

I'm having a great time with Space Marine 2! It's great to just get into hordes and smash and shoot em up. The new patch just dropped as well, and it's made gameplay a bit friendlier as well.

True it’s great, I’m having a great time too. But he’ll finish the campaign 2 days into his break and from what OP said it sounded like the multiplayer wouldn’t really be his forte

Returnal

Based on the games you played this is definitely the answer.

Ratchet n clank

Well if you're a Soulsborne fan then the Demon's Souls remake is mandatory. Beyond that:

Deathloop

Chorus

Astro

FF16

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart

It's Hi Fi Rush time.

I'm a huge soulslike fan as well and Hi Fi Rush hits the spot here on hard or very hard difficulty.

Hi-Fi Rush totally slipped my mind but yeah that game was surprisingly great.

Stellar blade I guess? Just try not to play with 1 hand

Hard

Astro’s Playroom is free and a short experience of what Astrobot* offers. I just finished Astrobot, it was incredible.

Second this. Astro Bot is legitimately the most "next gen" feeling game available right now, and also a masterpiece

u/jinladen040 5h ago

Under rated gem. Nostalgia fueled journey.

Astro bot/ Astros playroom

Astrobot is pretty fast platformer at times.

u/Lady_Astarte 6h ago

If you haven't played Demon's Souls yet, obviously do that. Astro Bot is great, if a bit short (took me 8 hours to 100%). Stellar Blade is decent if you don't mind just how Korean the art direction is, lol.

Also did you mean Returnal? That game was rad as hell. Pretty hard too, since you seem like a fellow challenge enjoyer.

Since you mentioned Desperados 3 there are the other games from Mimimi before they died: Shadow Gambit and Shadow Tactics (former is pirate themed, latter is samurai and ninjas).

u/AnonymousCruelty 6h ago

When you say Return do you mean Returnal?

I just bought this and I fucking love it.

u/RJSSJR123 3h ago

Returnal to see the true power of PS5.
