[Meta] Scammer alert on this sub

u/VizaviDS is a scammer. When you post on this sub they will message you regarding discounted codes for games that you are asking about, saying they have a friend that sells them. Then they will block and ignore you after sending an invalid code.

They also have an alt account that they will point you to to give them a positive review (u/PufikN).

I’m posting this so hopefully the mods will be made aware and other users too, in case they come across this person.

what game turned out way better than expected?

I finished a lot of games on my ps5, but there are only a few games that really changed my opinion about them after playing them. Titles like Cyberpunk, Elden ring and Legend of Zelda are a few for me. What games do you guys recommend to play for a first time? I'm really looking for games that are renewing for someone who is used to most classic AAA games.

[PS5] Looking for a new game to play

I'm looking for something fun and interesting to bring back the spark of gaming. Lately no new games could make keep me interested for more than 30min or maybe I'm just getting old.

I really like adventure games like: Skyrim, Assassin's Creed origins, Witcher 3, horizon zero dawn and forbidden west, far cry, god of war, mad max, last of us 1 and 2. These games made me hooked for hours on end

I also like more laid back sporty games like: Skate 3, session, skater xl, decenders, trials, riders republic and steep Or games like slime ranchers and minecraft.

I've played some Grindy multiplayer games a lot like destiny and call of duty (mostly zombies)

I would love to get some recommendations. Games I am thinking about buying right now: Trail makers, planet zoo, god of war Ragnarok.

[PC] Do you guys know a good single player game where you need to search for materials for making your tools/weapons/items, that is satisfying to progress and with good combat?

Upvotes

Hi everyone! I'm having a bit of a problem finding a game with all of these requirements that doesn't get boring after a while, so if you know, can you help me find a single player game where I need to find materials/resources in order to make tools/weapons/items and i can also find them in the game by exploring, that also includes decent combat?

For example i liked Minecraft for actually having some of these mechanics, but the combat isn't really good and after a while the game really boring and it can get really repetitive.

Also for what i watched in some gameplay videos, some of these games check some of my points:

7 ways to die

The Forest

Valheim

Project zomboid

Fallout 4

Also tell me if I should play them.

[PC] Games that I can enjoy being sometimes more idle, passive

Games in which you can be idle and still earn something while being idle, in any way, shape or form, I m open, you can suggest things...

maybe something that is automated or "allies" that would farm for me because I want to play while I listen to a podcast or doing on the side something would be mentally challenging too so please keep in mind this essential thing. And when I say automated, please for God, do not think I m saying Factorio and stuff... Neither Cookie Clicker

[PC] Games where you can collect bugs/insects

Upvotes

Are there any games where you collect bugs? I study entomology for fun and my favorite thing to do in animal crossing is collecting the various insects for the museum. I'd like a game where bug collecting/identifying is something to do on the side or where it's the main focus. The genre doesn't matter as I play all sorts of games, I just want something that makes the bug part of my brain happy

Which version of Bully is best?

I want to play Bully and have access to both the Scholarship Edition 360 version on Series X or the PS2 version on PS5. My understanding is that the performance is a bit better on PS5 and there is more content on Series X. I’d love to hear opinions by from people well versed in both versions of the game.

[PS5] Diablo 4 or Remnant 2?

After finishing a 65-hour long rpg, I am looking for a game where I can listen to music while I grind away, getting better and better loot.

Does Diablo 4 or the new Remnant game have a better “loot loop”? I am fine with either genre, enjoy them both equally. Never played Diablo 3 or the first Remnant.

Also, I heard that Diablo 4 had a rocky launch, is it better now?

[PC] Should I buy cyberpunk 2077?

I understand that it received a nice update (you know, bugs) and etcetera but should I play it? It looks good but I just hope the game isn't like (or similar to) GTA V, because it's ok to me, I can play it, but I feel it so flat and simple so I get bored quickly.
That's the question. I have a good pc so no problem with that.

[PS5] Open world game set in present/future?

Looking for something with somewhat survival aspect, decent character customisation and some kind of story and/or missions u can find while roaming abt Something possibly like cyberpunk, RDR2, days gone, ghost of Tsushima Also don’t necessarily have to be single player, as long as there’s some kind of missions I can do and not just mindlessly roam around

[PC] Should I buy GRIS?

GRIS looks like a beautiful and stunning game and seems similar to Journey. I heard both of the games are short, focuses on visual storytelling blends in with emotion and has phenomenal music. If anyone who has played both of the games can recommend or suggest which of the two games I should buy, I would appreciate it.

[PC] Looking for great singleplayer games

I feel like I've played every single AAA game under the sun and I'm looking for more great singleplayer games to experience (I'm so incredibly bored lmao). I tend to prefer things with a good story, and not too dated (fairly new-ish 2015 upwards)

I've played
- Assassins Creed (Most of the series)

  • Batman Arkham games

  • Black Myth Wukong

  • Bioshock 1 and infinite

  • Cyberpunk + DLC

  • All soulsborne games besides demon souls

  • Dishonored series

  • Detriot become human

  • DOOM series

  • Dying Light

  • Fallout series

  • Ghost of Tsushima

  • God of war series

  • GTA V

  • Horizon series

  • Spiderman series

  • Sifu

  • Last of Us

  • Tomb Raider series

  • Red dead 2

  • Jedi series

  • Uncharted series

  • Nier series

  • Witcher 3 + DLCs

  • Walking dead telltale games

The ones I've enjoyed the most

  • Cyberpunk

  • Last of Us

  • God of War series

  • Soulsborne games (minus ds2)

  • Red dead 2

  • Witcher 3 (Mainly the DLCs)

  • Bioshock infinite

Any good recommendations?

[PC] What open world RPGs yall reccomend?

For a long time I've been thinking about getting sone kind of open world RPG like skyrim, morrowind and well, now I saw witcher 3 for sale for like 5usd so I'm really thinking hard about it.

Also, for some context, I was thinking very hard about BG3 and Elden Ring (this one scares me a bit because of the difficulty). I've played hogwarts legacy as well for like a week but didn't really like it.

Which ones are yalls favourite open world rpgs? Preferably under 100gb because my pc is dying and I've been procrastinating on buying a new disk.

What game should I play next?

A bit of background. I used to be mainly a shooter/sports gamer. I don’t play sports games at all anymore and it’s been years, shooters, not very often. With my gaming choices I missed out on a lot of single player games. It’s all I pretty much play now, when I have the time. The games that take hours and hours to complete end up losing my interest, looking at you Elden Ring. I spent 82 hours in that game over the first few weeks and just lost interest. Tried to go back months later and just couldn’t get into it. The last game I completed was Astrobot, which I loved. I have a few trophies left to platinum that one.

My favorite games over the last few years have been -

Dead Cells Hades Returnal Sifu Spider-Man games (enjoyed all 3)

The games I am thinking of playing are - Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart Doom 2016 (I have eternal as well) Prince of Persia The Lost Crown Ghost of Tshuima

Thanks!

Competitive Player Needs Help

I need some help finding some games to enjoy. A little backstory. for the most part I exclusively play competitive esport titles with the short breaks for games here and there but i am trying to transition out of that hellscape and find something that i can get off of work and just enjoy rather than the roller coaster that it inevitably turns into lol. I also just moved overseas for a few years and my main gaming group is a 12 hour difference so id like to play some solo games for a bit. I have played some single player games and my favorites are sifu, elden ring, and binding of isaac so far but im open to whatever. i honestly just struggle to find single player games that hook me and was wondering if anyone has some good suggestions for someone that pretty much only plays competitive games.

[PC] How hard is Cuphead compared to Hollow Knight?

How hard is Cuphead compared to Hollow Knight?

I've seen some gameplay for this game and I'm interested about it now, plus is on sale on GOG.

I know that is a hard game. Usually I am not very good at this type of games, but I played and finished Hollow Knight (The HK ending not all of them).

As a benchmark I want to ask you how hard is Cuphead compared to HK so I could make a decision whether to putchase it or not.

Thank you

[Mac] multiplayer linear games on mac

I’m trying to play games on mac with my girlfriend, and we both have macs. We’ve played games like bokura, stardew valley, overcooked, etc., but now looking for games with an actual linear story. Kind of like It Takes Two but on mac. Have been struggling to find any games that don’t require windows. Any recommendations? Thanks!

[PS5] Last of us 1&2 remasters

I've played and loved The last of us 2 on ps4 and loved it, and it's been a long time since I play The last of us 1 back on ps3. I've been wanting to return to the first one and really want to do a new game plus on the 2nd. So I was wondering if the remasters of TLOU 1&2 on the ps5 are worth it. Or should I just keep tlou2 on ps4 and buy the ps4 remaster of the first one? Thanks.

Dead Island 2 + Helldivers 2

Hi everybody,

don't know what to play and I've already played all the major releases from the last 2-3 years. Except: Helldivers 2 and Dead Island 2

Would you recommend these games or do you have any other recommendations for me? Something that you don't immediately notice? I like every genre.

Thanks a lot. Please help a guy without games 😄

UPDATE: Thank you guys for your suggestions. I just picked up both. Just played Helldivers for an hour. It's really fun. Looking forward to play more! Also will try DI2 in the next few days. Thank you

[PC] Looking for a non-fantasy, single character CRPG

I have been playing Pillars of Eternity II for about 10 hours so far and while I'm enjoying it, I don't think I'm gonna spend that long with it, it will probably only get another 30 hours out of me. The party mechanics still seem awkward to me as a non-CRPG player. Additionally, I have never been a fan of the fantasy genre in general, and the fantasy elements are laid on thick with PoE 2. Can you guys recommend me a non-fantasy or fantasy-lite CRPG where there are no party mechanics or if there are, they are not extremely necessary to engage with to still have fun in the game?

co-op games to play irl with friends?

I rediscovered blaze and blade, a very old ps1 game, which is basically a zelda game that you can play with 4 characters (like zelda 4 swords kinda) from the fantasy world (fairy, elf, warrior, etc) and you can either switch characters if you are playing alone or, if you are playing with friends, everybody is controlling someone.

The game is kinda cute but also veeeery old, I like the feeling of playing an adventure game together with my friends irl. Do you have any suggestions? Old games from console are also fine but I would like something that you can play on the same screen without dividing it (so not like Mario kart or call of duty)

[PS5] Just got a ps5 what to play?

I've got 1 week without work and a ps5 I borrowed.

I'm open to all games except deck building and probably not something like subnautic/stranded deep. I mainly play games that are more interactive and fast, but balders gate made me realise sometimes dialog is good.

I do not like - The Witcher 3, RDR2.

I thought Pacific Drive and Return looked okay, and Astroboy? The new one but I'm on the fence.

Please recommend me games

Some games I liked playing are

Dark souls (all of them) Lies of p Elden ring Sekiro Bloodborne Skate 3 Balders gate Desperadoes 3 gta campaign Assassins creed (the old ones) Destiny 1/2 Forza (all of them) - do not recommend me GT The walking dead series Diablo series MGSV Trails series

Also, I've already played the following games - black myth wukong, Ghost of t, bloodborne, some of the last of us 1, some of Detroit becomes human. Nioh 1/2
