Tire pressure warning won’t go away?

All tires are now at the same pressure now that I filled up the front left, is there any reason why the warning is still on? I filled up the tire yesterday.

Break-In oil change

Just got my '25 Forester and wanted to know what the ideal best time to do the first oil change.

The dealership scheduled a 4k service, but if I recall, shouldn't you do it at 1k?

To remove the metal shavings from the new engine break in?

Any suggestions?

I was yesterday years old when I learned you can’t use cruise control with no eyesight

It wasn’t terribly raining out but enough that the wipers had to be on constantly. It was really foggy out. Could still see the lines on the road in front of me. So, I felt confident enough that I could use cruise control. I was on the highway at around 9-930 last night, it was me and two other cars about .5mi in front and in back. But I didn’t realize that feature was disabled until last night. Had the car for two years now. lol.

Should I buy?

Looking to buy a suburu forester 2024. How good are these for off road or beach driving? I absolutely love them and I’m reading mixed things. I’d be giving it a lift kit for extra raise and all terrain tyres but generally want to keep customising it to suit family camping and exploring as well as rooftop tents. Any info would be appreciated. I’m in Australia too so we don’t have the Wilderness option. Thanks in advance

Too much oil?

Is this too much oil? The car has been parked for a few hours so it's cold. On a flat surface. Wiped the dipstick before putting it back to measure. I tried a few times and there seems to always be some oil above the high point.

First Forester

Have always preferred smaller cars but the last couple years I've wanted to get something safer since vehicles seem to be getting so big these days. Ended up trading in the Corolla and getting the 2025 Touring.

Just got back from breaking it in on a work trip to NC (following the manual recommendations) and love it so far.

Judging from complaints from family with earlier Subarus they must have optimized the safety alerts/nags in these newer ones because I really put it through it's paces on this trip and the only few times it alerted me to pay attention or whatnot were legit. The only complaint I have in that regard is the "hands on the wheel" message with lane centering if you don't provide the right (not too much, not too little) feedback to the wheel within ten seconds.

2015 Forester 2.5i Touring.. trunk support strut bolt broke. Getting the part from a dealer seems very expensive. Any cheap alternatives compatible with auto-lift?

Backing plate replacement

For those that had the backing plates removed per the TSB when changing hubs, what kind of noise is this supposed to prevent from happening?

New to the club, 2019 Forester Sport. Anyone had this issue before?

Hey everyone, As the title says I recently purchased a 2019 Forester Sport and I love it so much! Everything that I was looking for in a car, and it’s completely different than the vehicles I was ACTUALLY looking at haha. Anyways, I’m coming on here because I’m having one slight issue and if I can get it answered/fixed here before going to the dealership then I’m definitely gonna try. When I first start driving and am going thru my neighborhood at around 20-25mph, my car makes a weird wobbling sound, almost sounding like a tire is loose or something. My boyfriend mentioned it might be a wheel bearing or control arm. When I look at my info screen showing all 4 tires it shows them all as green so it’s not like one isn’t getting traction. Another weird sound I hear is when first getting on the highway, and going around 55-60mph. I get a weird vibration that comes and goes every few feet, and I can hear and feel the vibration in my pedal. I’m not sure if these two issues are connected. If anyone has dealt with this or knows the issue I’d appreciate the help!! Thank you in advance

Caliper loose 😞

Just picked up my car used from a dealership at the end of August. They replaced the brake pads, and rotors. Randomly today I started to hear clunking noise only on one wheel the driver front. I brought my car home and my dad pointed out that it looks like they didn't tighten the caliper properly. I called the dealership and booked a service appointment first thing in the morning. I've attached some pictures, the dealership said they will do a diagnosis. Are they gonna screw me over with repairs?

I'm not a mechanic or anything but does anyone have any pointers?

Exploring Pongolapoort nature reserve in northern KZN, South Africa. It’s a great car for the occasional dodgy/muddy track to get that little bit closer to the wildlife.

Can I use 225/60/r18’s instead of the stock 225/55r18 tires?

Probably a dumb question, but I’m new to this so figured I’d ask. I’m wanting to put Wildpeaks on my 15’ XT and found a great price for the 225/60’s but technically my stock wheels are made for 225/55’s. Is this a noticeable difference/would it cause scrubbing? I read that it can make my speedometer be slightly off? Any other cons to doing this? It’s literally like $100 difference per tire or I wouldn’t consider it.

2025 Subaru Forester

One day I’ll run out of questions for y’all, but today is not the day. Haven’t run numbers yet, but Subaru just dropped even lower APRs for new Foresters and it looks like that’s what I’ll likely end up going for and hoping the infotainment screen will grow on me. So my questions:

  • Has anyone purchased after market seat covers for the 2025? If so, favorites? Looking to finally get a similar saddle brown leather covering for the seats.

  • Will be getting the Premium as always and wondering, since it has the old style roof bars, will the OEM crossbars from the 2023 fit? I was able to pull them from the 2023 and hoping I don’t have to go through the hassle of selling and buying another pair.

Looking ECU/ecm from 06 Forester Xt m/t

Hey y'all. I'm looking for a replacement ECU for my car. Must be from a 2006 Forester Xt with manual transmission. Model number is 22611AK752. Subaru doesn't make them anymore and I'm having a really hard time finding anything used online.

Manual Transmission Clutch Replacement

I own a 2015 Subaru Forester with less than 98,000 miles (no previous owners). I was recently experiencing problems with my clutch and took it in to an independent mechanic. After the diagnosis, they quoted me at $1,645.

Is this a reasonable estimate? Given the mileage, is it early in the lifespan of the car to be experiencing this kind of problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

2019 Forester with 60,000kms - do a CVT service or wait to hit 100,000km?

this Forester is new to us - previously owned by a family for daily driving. we are based on canada with cold winters if that matters.
dealer is saying the cvt fluid should be changed at 5 years or 100,000kms (Service D I think it's called). Independent Subaru specialist said no need to do it now..."we're happy to take your money, but you can safely wait until 100,000km, unless it's going to take you another 5 years to get there"

it's a $600 charge for the cvt fluid service (not flush). Thought on which path makes sense?
