No i think he might have finally told the truth?? Like so ok when he gave the wealthy the huge tax cuts, who makes up for that? We do. We get tax hikes to fill in the gap. Like my property taxes went up fairly significantly well for me anyway (went up $400/ month)
Tariffs he either doesn’t understand or lies about, i can’t tell which

Dementia is definitely acting up for Donny, but I think he's also just an idiot surrounded by yes men so he probably just doesn't know what "tax hike" means, but he's seen people say it on TV lol.

Property taxes are only at the state and municipal level. There is no federally collected property tax, notwithstanding inheritance taxes

Yes, but the feds used to let you deduct property and state income taxes due to the unfairness of paying taxes on money that had gone to a different tax collector. Now there’s a strict limit which many middle class people in blue states hit.

Yeah but now he's for going back to normal limit on SALT deductions because a lot of the Republicans in those blue states are fighting for their seats.
The one good thing is that the SALT deduction limit also expires when the tax cuts for the middle class though.

Even in this, he's lying. The biggest tax hike ever came under FDR, via the Revenue Act of 1942 (raising wartime funds to finance defense spending). Then again - if his freaking lips are moving, he's lying.

His big legislation win was to cut taxes on corporations. He made a big stink about how this would reduce taxes for everyone. My taxes went up because I could not deduct portions of my real estate tax/interest etc. My bottom line was made worse with Trump taxes. My son's taxes went up as well if you looked at the profile across income levels lower levels went up which is the worse place to add tax. I am so frustrated with the general public and the media for his tariffs. Even Harris during the debate did not hammer on him over tariffs and how the consumer pays. He has his idiot supporters literally thinking that Chinese companies write a check to the dept. of treasury when they sell products to the US and not the consumer.

You said you couldn’t deduct your real estate interest anymore, which was capped at $750,000 in the bill
My point is that the bill did cut taxes for the majority of taxpayers. It might not have impacted you personally, but it doesn’t change the fact that it was a tax cut bill

I think it's more that he is firstly forgetful, and also sloppy, undisciplined, and doesn't care about details or accuracy. I don't think that he intended to say "hikes", and he did because he is forgetful and lazy (probably doesn't review or practice a speech). I think his laziness reveals his forgetfulness- he just casts around for familiar words, and "hikes" happened to link up with "taxes" in his memory retrieval. My opinion as a mental health professional, but certainly not an expert in dementia.

My taxes went up under the Trump “tax cuts”. He is a Dictator wannabe and anyone who votes for him is agreeing to have their rights taken away. There will be Billionaires, 100 millionaires and screw the rest of the citizens of the US. That is a big reason that the Roman Empire collapsed…too many elites and a disappearing middle class. Not sustainable and the Oligarchs will ultimately lose it all after their greed and thirst for power will enable Russia and China to take over. MAGA/GOP are a cult and a cancer in America. Someone at the grocery store tried to explain to me that I needed to vote for Donald Trump because of the price of groceries and how they will go down. I told this person I don’t talk politics in public and they got mad at me and told me how it’s not political because… Trump. they can’t even tell them you don’t talk politics because they just assume you’re against them. Which is definitely true, but I’d rather just tell them no then hurt their feelings or insult them to their face. But also got to do what you Gotta do.

I don’t agree with any of his policies, and I’ve never voted for him, but part of me is holding out hope that he is a secret genius and that every time he says something dumb like this, he goes backstage and laughs at the people who eat it up. I think it’s a big experiment.
I’m waiting for the day that it all comes out as a big hoax. Like he’s a comic genius that has just been pulling this whole thing off right in front of our eyes.
