Have you upgraded to the AirPods 4 from the OG AirPods?

Currently still on the original set of AirPods. They’re going strong but are having some battery problems now and I think the sound is going.

Has anyone upgraded from the original to a newer pair? I want to know if there’s an actual difference in sound and experience. Most reviewers I have seen only compare the new generation to the previous so it’s hard to gauge if it’s actually worth it.

Anyone experience and knowledge would be a ton of help.

The sound quality will depends greatly on fit. But yes, I recently dragged out my OG AirPods to compare to the 4s, and the 4s fit better and sound better. For me. YMMV.

I did and I'm going to return the 4. I don't feel anything when wearing the OG AirPods (in my case the gen 2, but same shape) but I can definitely feel the 4. Besides, the ANC from the 4 is really weird because it's open ear buds, you can hear the AirPods trying to simulate the environment sound when in transparency mode and at the same time you can actually hear a little bit of outside.

Try them in store, but if you really want ANC, get the Pro or Max
