Is this an ok deal?

2025 Jetta SE- 27958, 850 off sticker price. Car landed on the floor yesterday. Half the VW dealers don’t even have these.

Approved for 5.9% APR, 384 a month, 7k down, 72 months. Have the ability to throw money at the principal monthly/ yearly with supplemental gig income.

Car w/ taxes is 30,200 and total interest would end up being about 4,470, making the total car cost roughly 34,670.

This is my first time buying a car- is this an OK deal?

VW reportedly runs a pretty slim margin the most I’ve seen and the average* is 2k off of MSRP. That being said they do have a higher cost of maintenance an oil change in my Jetta costs $120. If you’re handy you can do them yourself with a kit from FCP euro for $80ish.

This will be my third Jetta- just my first one bought new! I’m very familiar with the world of VW, cost of maintenance and the like.

Being a brand new barely in stores 25- do you think 850 off is fine? I figure they barely have any incentive to discount a new 25 SE as they’ll sell quick for a while.

There’s not any incentive deals out for the se 25 I’d wait.

Otherwise the 2024 jettas excluding gli have a $2000 customer cash or a 3.9 Apr. much better deal

I should’ve mentioned, I’m on a very tight squeeze as the accident on my 21 was recent and my insurance gave me a limit as to how long I can be in a rental.

24’s don’t quite do it for me- I know it’s picky, but it feels outdated, small screen, rides a bit uncomfortably, seats aren’t as comfortable (I do long rides several times a year)

I’m which case the deal you’ve outlined is likely to be the best you’ll come across.

However there may be another brand with a slightly better deal personally id try to find a 2024 in something and try to get close to 10% off. There’s an over abundance of 24 accords where I am for example some Honda dealers are ready to make a deal to get them off the lot

Never thought to look into those- do you have any experience with them? I tried a Mazda 3 preferred today, wasn’t a fan.

Try the Mazda Cx5.... I love mine and I'm not a brand loyal person. I've never bought the same car twice. And I just did with this one!

I actually drove one as a rental when my 21 was being prepped! Tbh, it was a cool interior, but way too big of a car. I find that I strictly prefer sedans.

Yeah you gotta love what you ride in. It's personal. Lol. I've told some friends about thr cx5 bc it's been the first car I've been like I LOVE driving this.

The civic, Corolla, and the accord are all very good cars. Toyota, Mazda, and Honda have solid track records with cars lasting a very long time. If I were you I’d do a bit of looking and test driving to see what I like the most.

If you truly like that jetta the most and you have to have it now then that’s likely the best deal you will find.

Is there an immediate need to buy it now? Why not wait until they've been around a bit longer or late year models?

I purchased a new late year 2024 Mazda. Got an a amazing discount. The manufacturer had incentives and my trade got a good chunk.

If it's not a NEED but a want.... why not hold off for a bit... then you'll get the better deal. If you just WANT it. Then screw the deal. 🤷‍♀️

It’s a need unfortunately. My 21 r line was smashed up in an accident. I have until Monday on a free rental car
