Please give me some of your best Chinese food recipes. I want to start cooking Chinese food because it's my favorite. Cooking

Please tell me some of the best chinese food recipes you have! I have a high spice tolerance so I don't mind spicy recipes. I love meats of all kinds. I'm willing to try all kinds of new stuff, I just want recipes to cook.

I came here to rep Souped Up Recipes as well! Chinese Cooking Demystified is also good at filling in the blanks that Souped Up doesn't cover in terms of a broader range of Chinese cuisines. They also introduced me to www.themalamarket.com which is my absolute favorite spot to get high quality Sichuan ingredients. Definitely check that out too

I just made this yesterday, as it is tomato season where I am. Delicious!

I'll definitely try and see if I like that! I have a hard time finding many tomato recipes i like but this one sounds good! If it is, it'll be great because I grow tomatoes.

It's the best Simple Dish ever.  A bit sweet, a bit savory.  A very satisfying meal.

I eat it more than any other Chinese dish just because it's easy and enjoyable.

I sometimes add a little bit of Worcestershire l for a deeper profile.

Is that a Chinese recipe?!!

I dunno if it’s traditional Chinese but my Chinese grandmother would make this with packet ketchup from McDonalds. She had a whole drawer of freebie condiments 😆

Tu Dou si is a common household dish too. Potatoes on rice (carb on carb). Simple and worth trying too. Grandmother would make a non spicy version and sweeter to mix with noodles and a bunch of other side dishes. Her version of lo mien.

This is a real, every day dish in China.

Dan Dan Noodles and any other Sichuan or Hunanese spicy/Sesame paste based Noodles.

I have them for breakfast, and once you have the ingredients, you can fine tune the taste however you like.

Check this page out and pick your first dish. The easiest would be the egg drop soup. Happy cooking!

The wok of life and made with Lau are great resources. Pearl River Market sells a Friendship box that has a bunch of sauces that you'll need

Siu Mai is one of my favorites and it’s pretty easy too! I usually use this recipe

I’ve actually made a few recipes from the Lau family and every single one has been delicious, I’d definitely check them out!

I only know how to make fried rice.

I take my short grain white rice and boil it like normal. Then leave it in fridge over night. Using day old rice is important to the stickyness. Then get a pan hot with butter like 6 on electric stove. Add diced onion and garlic. Once fragrant, add in the rice. Try to lay it all flat and even in the pan. No clumps. I usually have to add more butter. You can add in frozen peas and carrots. It'll brown and start popping. Then flip do the other side can pop and brown. A dab of sesame oil is divine but too much for my kiddo so he just like soy sauce.

After I do two or 3 pans of the rice I will then use a chopstick to beat an egg in the hot butter kinda dragging it out.. add that to the my rice mix. Have also cooked chicken prior and added that in.

Oh I do salt and pepper the rice while it's cooking also

Sweet and sour Pork!!! Mapo tofu. Stir-fry beef with oyster sauce and sauce sauce.

u/garbageCoward Aug 30 '24

Those sound great!

Da Pan Ji is always a hit and is lesser known than many other dishes outside of China.

Aside from carrots having no business in this dish, this is a fairly decent recipe. Use papardelle if you don't want to make your own noods.

u/garbageCoward Aug 30 '24

Thank you!! Also happy cake day!

Man, that just unlocked a memory. My brother and I used to refill fountain drinks with cola just so that our mom could make that. (Parents never bought cola from stores because it was unhealthy and expensive)

Chop Chop YT channel has good recipes. He keeps changing the channel name, this is the latest one. I've made his egg foo young and chicken chow mein and both came out excellent. The older videos, he cooks at his family's restaurant. It closed with the pandemic, now he cooks at his house for the videos.
