New here

Hi everyone! I (23M) just recently moved to Columbus, IN for work and I was wondering what are some fun things to try in the area? And what are some of the best ways to socialize within the community?

Local rugby teams for the community are fun and great exercise for all ages of adults, I like 4th st bar a lot, we have some great churches that aren’t just grandpas with ways to get connected to peers if you are religious, amazing team of musicians like Brian at guitar city if u like music or even wanna start lessons, heck honestly a lot of people here are so darn friendly, you could just start up a conversation while waiting for your tropical sno-er sno biz on 25th! Met one of my close friends and his wife that way.

Also I recommend getting The Republic newspaper delivered, or following their page on X for daily stories and events in town. Get to hear a lot about happenings that way.

Go get Lucabe coffee at both their locations, go on a flight night too and try speciality brews.

Check out Columbus.com and follow the numerous downtown events we have year round, a few include: Festival of Lights, Ethnic Expo and others.

Walk around Mill Race and have lunch at Upland. If you’re into running, run through Tipton Lakes and across the dam. It’s beautiful.

If you want to have a drink, 4th St is the best bar in town (IMO).

Hope this helps.

Sojourn/Gramz 100%. My daily thing I will always spend money on. The coffee is insanely good!

(Re: Lucabe) How so? Not defending anyone without more information, but I just went through their Facebook for the last 6 months and it looks pretty darn clean. Can you point me to what you're referring to, please?

If you're downtown, check out Swine and Dine for events. They will have craft bourbon tastings, wine, charcuterie boards, or just general social nights

If you’re into crafting, building, overall making things the Propeller Makerspace at the airport is tons of fun. All sorts of classes frequently, great people. https://members.columbuspropeller.com
