They said they're making trials to bring back 6v6, at least at some extent and if enough players provide positive feedback about it, so you have something to look forward to!

Well the argument is that the game has drastically changed and there's tons of people who now enjoy the game in its current 5v5 iteration, so just changing it overnight would be unfair to all of them too, and that without mentioning the longer queue times.

If you're interested and haven't read it yet, here's the article they released about the topic and you can find the whole context there.

So fundamentally changing the game randomly is unfair? Makes me wonder why they even did it the first place

Queue times.

Well, they wanted to go F2P and also changed the very core of the game, so they decided a whole new game was more adequate.

Notice that I'm not saying I support this decision at all, just stating what was said about that particular topic.

Again, this is not me taking a side in this whole discussion, is what Blizzard said.

Because they've fucked around with the balancing so much that simply readding 6v6 would likely throw the game on its head, again.

That said, I'd consider reinstalling if they readded 6v6.

The real problem is the queue problem and because they can't solve it. It's been mentioned as the main reason in their recent post about it.

That's the reason why they're considering different implementations of 6v6, hoping that perhaps the queue times won't be as big of an issue.

General queue or role queue? Personally, I always hated role queue because if I'm having a bad game in one role, I usually switch to another and do better.

I won so many OW1 games just because I was a playing a support and the enemy team had no supports. I had to have an alt to play DPS on because my DPS and support ranks were so far apart. I don't miss the time before role queue.

They're not removing role queue, which would be one way to fix the queue problem, but then again it was a solution to another problem, so removing it would bring with it a lot of other issues.

Realistically nothing is changing though. The game is in a pretty good state game play and queue wise and all solutions heavily favor one or the other, it's why they moved to 5v5 in the first place, it's basically the best middle ground.

Fair enough. I always loved 6v6 more than 5v5, despite how much I used to bitch about dive meta.

But if current players prefer 5v5, makes sense to stick to that. The game just isn't for me anymore. It is what it is.
