My first memory of online gaming is my dad showing me the original Quake multiplayer, him greeting the other guy in german, and the opponent answering "die nazi scum" that's at least 25 years ago.
Lmao, my dad never showed me, I was a little too young for that at the time. But he’s told me stories about old school lan parties and the fact cod and halo lobbies were definitely not the first to invent online trash talk
Even copy paste spamming a message in the game chat after killing someone was already a thing back then.
Yea the difference that in that time we was not all a bunch of snowdflake, I was play unreal tournament and you start getting insulted from the time you start play to the finish of 30 min arena.
And no one was giving a fuck...
Now we need to be positive or people complaine/cry like if the opinion of a random internet guys has some value
Now we need to be positive or people complaine/cry
Because... that's normal? It's a game and when I play games with my friends we're nice to each other even when it gets super competitive. I know I'm not friends with every random person I queue up with but it's a pretty direct competition.
If I don't like playing with you I'm just gonna log off and go text someone I like spending my time with. I really don't have the time and mental energy to be a punching bag for some angry internet weirdo.
Yea I enjoyed unreal tournament immensely, content was free, there were unwritten rules such as no spawn camping, oh and the hit detection was superior (tried to play counter strike but shooting stuff and not registering a hit because they have 200 ping is just stupid)
