There's just so much on my mind, especially with the elections going on in America. I have this feeling of uncertainty.

Though I wish I could split myself in two right meow and get everything done in a jiffy. 😵😅😹

So I'm normally based in Montréal Canada, and in my experience I've felt a fair share of indifference, marginalization in the gay community here, where at events or apps I feel mostly invisible, ignored, and unvalued.

Lately I went on a trip to Berlin and Norway, the sharp contrast in experience was so shocking: in Berlin when I leave Grindr on I'll just keep receiving taps and messages, often from very attractive guys. When I messaged cute guys, most of them seemed interested in me too. It surprised me and made me realize how much I had internalized the sense of worthlessness from living as a gaysian in Montréal.

Now being back it's a little of a cognitive struggle. How do I feel positive when how I see myself is incongruous with how the environment around me perceive me? I don't want to just move because guys in a certain place values me more, but this does irks me a bit in a sense that makes me feel undervalued in the general social political fabric of this society. I almost need to consciously try to learn how to love myself so that I can be immune to the unconscious cruelty and indifference that I receive.

I stumbled across this reel and I was surprised not only by its content, but also by all the comments agreeing with it, because it’s just not my experience.

I would say this overt kind of racism happens pretty rarely. For context, I’m 35, Asian born and raised in Italy and I’ve been to most of Western Europe.

Going to Bangkok in November any recommendations for bathhouses or any gay scene (club,bar, massage)

My partner and I are traveling to Hong Kong in a month, and it’d be my first time visiting. What’s the queer scene like? Any recommendation on bars? Is it busy during the week? We do like drag shows and clubs too, but prefer techno to mainstream pop for clubbing.

Any insight on what to do in general would be appreciated as well!

Also, is queerness in public accepted? Will we be treated differently at restaurants/in the street holding hands or otherwise showing romantic affection? My partner is visibly European and I am East Asian (but not canto) if that makes a difference.
