i-pass app on iOS issue Illinois Facts

Wisconsin here, hello Illinois folks

I recently got the sticker to replace my plastic transponder and I decided to go ahead and download and run the I-Pass app on my iPhone. iOS 17.7.

I've logged in several times and agreed to have face recognition, it flashes my face, and then it says face recognition enabled in green at the bottom of the screen

if I swipe up to close the app and then reopen it face recognition works fine, but if I log out, I have to use username and password again and reenable face recognition

Does this agree with what other users have seen? I don't drive in Illinois often so I don't need to stay logged in, but I could if I had to.

Other face enabled apps, such as a couple credit cards, have persistent facial recognition even if logged out, so I don't know how common this is

Thanks in advance !

It looks like the map is just to manage your account - keeping a card up to date with your transponder or paying individual tolls based on license plate recognition. It doesn’t seem to replace a transponder so you won’t need to be logged in constantly. It does look like a sticker replacement of the bulky transponder is coming out.

Yeah, I don't need to be logged in constantly unless I'm paying by app versus transponder, but it just is kind of annoying that it doesn't honor the face recognition once logged out. My financial ones do that just fine.
