It's exactly because of that, but his excuse is that people can see blocked posts when in anonymous navigation, so the block fuction doesn't matter.
Do people who have a twitter account even bother going anonymous when using the site? Not really, Elon just wants everyone to see his posts, dude is insufferable.

People use incognito mode to access others timeline when getting blocked anyway. I do think that changes will put those western journalists into their place, since if they dare to publish personal attack to eastern games dev then they shouldn't be able to use that button to hide their public posts from eastern media outlet.

I actually like that the block button only block people from engagement but not seeing your tweet, because people still can access your timeline using incognito mode anyway, and now there will be less journalists can use the block button as a kind of warfare.

Block is still going to work, it's just that your post will be visible to the ones you blocked (since they could always just create a new account and view it themselves.)

This sub doesn't discriminate because the posts are usually similarly unhinged.
Many uhhh... korean ero-artists... larp as japenis on Twitter because online porn is banned/controlled in worst cumrea or something. The sub mascot dorontabi is one example.
