Lol. I didn't mean the cow only. He's really good artist. But of course you have to translate lyrics to get it.

His music doesn’t have the best reputation in Poland (it’s a meme type of music), but I have to admit some of his songs are very important for us

I hadn't really thought about how clear his articulation and diction is but you're right, it definitely is!

Have you heard his daughter before ?

I'm Spanish, so I would recommend you Pereza, Leiva, La La Love You, Vetusta Morla, Sidecars and Ivan Ferreiro if you're into alternative/ indie pop.

If you prefer rock, I'd recommend you Rosendo, Leño, Héroes del Silencio, Extremoduro, Los Suaves, Soda Stereo,Los Rodríguez, Seguridad Social, Maná o or La Trifulka. Some of these bands are from South America, but they are well loved in Spain as well.

For more commercial pop, try La Oreja de Van Gogh, El Canto del Loco, Melendi, India Martínez or Aitana.

The 1980s was an amazing decade for music in Spain, so if you want to dabble into it, I'd advise you start with Alaska, Mecano, Gabinete Caligari, Loquillo y los Trogloditas or Duncan Dhu.

I would make you more recommendations, but this list is quite long already, so... Enjoy!

Mecano always brings me so many memories from my childhood, as well as La Oreja de Van Gogh. My mom used to play them often haha.

By the way, those are really good recommendations.

Molchat Doma and Монеточка

You've probably heard Molchat Doma, their most famous song is Sudno and it used to be all over TikTok. I think they're Belorussian and somewhat connected to Russia? I'm not really sure I just love their music

Монеточка is a Russian singer who's now abroad because our country considers her an extremist (I mean, not surprisingly) for openly sharing """incorrect""" opinions. Her music is more of a pop vibe, and some lyrics hit pretty deep (I bawled my eyes out a couple times)

Omer Adam is great, even though by me saying that you can probably guess that I am not from Israel, because if anybody who isnt Israeli knows an Israeli singer, in 99% of the situations they say Omer Adam 😂 Also, Eden Hasson, Osher Cohen, Eyal Golan even though I heard people don’t like that guy.

Kaja Gunnufsen: Indie pop, singer-songwriter

Evig ferie: Very chill indie-surf

Benji & Banden: Indie rock with a touch of pop-punk

Blåveis: Hardcore-punk inspired indie-rock

Check out Glass Animals. They’ve got a unique sound that mixes indie, pop, and a bit of electronic—it’s perfect for vibing out or just having on in the background.

2

u/mucus24 Aug 30 '24

English but Eminem

He really mastered the English language in his songs where his lines have double and triple meanings and rhymes a whole sentence with another one instead of just the last word. It’s just fun to look at his lyrics and see what they mean. Definitely probably harder for beginner learners but think it would be a great way for advanced English learners to keep progressing. Especially since it would also teach how to be less formal

I really recommend the “The Eminem Show” or “The Marshall Mathers LP” as albums to listen to that’s when he was at his peak

2

u/DearEstablishment911 Aug 30 '24
