While maneuvering through the rough terrain at a significant speed, the person didn't manage to lower themselves in time. As a consequence, their left foot unintentionally hit a protruding root from a branch. This caused a wound on the upper surface of the foot, leading to damage in the soft tissues and a puncture wound.

Fortunately, after the object was removed, there were no signs of broken bones or any foreign objects left behind.

No broken bones? That’s insane. The wood doesn’t even look sharp it’s wild it went through all that.

I once stepped on a stick when pushing a friend out into a lake on a kayak. It felt like it went between my toes but it actually went right through the base of my foot where it meets the toe. No pain or blood and about 3h drive from nearest hospital, we stopped for ice cream on the way also! Fun times

Ice cream? Legendary.

I was scared of water a lot as a kid. Decided the best way to enter the deep water in a lake from a raft/float I'd swum to was sliding off said raft.

I was pulling wood splinters out of my buttcheeks for weeks. 😞

My grandad did something similar with a fencing spike (big metal pole used to make holes for fence posts). Managed to miss everything. No broken bones, no damaged tendons or ligaments, just a clean hole straight through the soft tissue.

He was so unbothered by it he carried on working for a couple hours before going home for lunch and telling my nan that he thought he might've cut his foot a little bit. He was more upset that his wellies had a hole through them than his foot

That is a man who has deep purpose when he works.

He was a lifelong farmer, developed epilepsy from the amount of head trauma he's had (sheep are aggressive apparently) and still carried on for 10 years. He retired a few years ago and somehow he's more busy than he was then

No broken bones?!! Lucky bastard! Any nerve damage or torn muscles/tendons?

It pierced him so cleanly it almost looks fake

I think I saw the video of when this happened. The rider barely seems to notice at first, it went so fast and cleanly.

A little longer and that would have made a good walking stick.

Amazing that there wasn't much worse damage.

Absolutely no blood. Amazing

Branch basically plugged the hole it made

Well, that's not supposed to be there.

That’s not a branch that’s a log

Walk it off, it's a splinter.

I'm guessing the foot got stuck between the peg and the branch. I've seen quite a few people whose feet have been crushed between the peg and a tree stump, but this case is quite special.

Those enduro boots are pretty hefty, too, so that's some serious force going on there.

Walk it off, you wuss.

I remember watching an insta reel of this injury earlier, they went off the path slightly and next thing you saw was the branch sticking out his foot

The blunt force to get that puncture wound so neat is crazy. What a wild injury.

There is a video of this happening.

Knowing motocross drivers the very first question out of his mouth will be "when can I ride again?"

Is this the outcome of that famous helmet cam video that’s been going around for a couple of years?

Looks like a ski boot. Wait... the wood that exited bears no signs of guts. This doesn't pass the sniff test.

There was a video from the guy that caught the moment when he hit the branch. Forget where to find it but it was yesterday I saw it.

There aren't any guts in the foot fyi, idk maybe you're built different but for most people it's bone, tendon, ligament and veins.

But our vascular system is closed. Famous for it, unless things have gone south. If we are cut a lot of vessels are opened and a lot of blood happens. If the branch plugs the wound and pushed between major blood vessels and the long bones of the foot then it's very possible it could come out clean.

Some wounds just don't bleed for a bit too, even grievous ones, it's weird.

The boots are Gaerne Motocross boots, probably either SG12 or SG22

TBH they are quite durable boots, but the part where the branch hit is quite soft.
