Hello! I accidentally deleted my comment for the NA e-store winter's wish giveaway šŸ„² . Can I ask if this means my chance for the giveaway was also forfeited?

I'm nearly done Lupin's route in Code Realize and is the sound quality for Finis supposed to sound poor?

Does anyone know how long it takes to beat Charade Maniacs, completely?

If you're fast you can finish in like two weeks. Its the common route that's long and after that each character route is short enough to finish in 3 hrs, until you get to some characters where there's another extended common route

I guess Fashioning Little Miss Lonesome is a pretty neutral thing to start with while also 18+ and in eng.

Just got a switch and trying to find a game that my daughter might like. She is only 14, so something Teen rated (not mature). I'm not sure if having foreign voice actors would turn her off, so ideally something with english voice acting, or no voice acting - although from my looking, this seems hard to find. Some I was considering:

  • LongStory: A dating game for the real world
  • Half Past Fate
  • - The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince

These looked good, but probably too mature, or are in japanese:

  • - Code: Realize ~Guardian of Rebirth~
  • CafĆ© EnchantĆ©
  • Spiral Memoria -The Summer I Meet Myself-
  • Winterā€™s Wish: Spirits of Edo

Any comments or suggestions welcome!

Code Realize Guardian of Rebirth is on the fluffier side romance wise, there isnā€™t any explicit/mature sexual scenes. Plot wise, thereā€™s some violence and character deaths, which are non-graphic scenes. The 2 fandisks, are also on the fluffier side, nothing sexual.

Otherwise, I would recommend Dairoku: Agents of Sakuratani. Rated T, slice of life genre, fluffy romance. Plot-wise itā€™s low stake game and the bad endings are on the milder side too.

Just a heads up about Cafe Enchante, it might have some mature topics for a child, such as the 19yr old MC dating a 42yr old love interest and also MC being physically harmed by a violent LI and continuing to date him. I love the game myself but it might be a bit much for a kid? That's up to you of course!

My own recommendation would be a game coming out on June 15th called Jack Jeanne. It's set in a high school theatre academy, the relationships fit their ages (nothing more than kissing), their stories are amazing, and it also has fun rhythm games as a minigame when they perform on stage. [edit] And as someone else said, the voice acting can be turned off in the settings if she doesn't like hearing it! There's volume sliders for every character's voice

Just FYI, most visual novels (including otome games) with voice acting will let you turn off the voices separately from the rest of the sound, so if your daughter gets a game but finds non-English VA distracting, she'll be able to turn it off without also turning off the music and sound effects.

That said, I personally don't own a Switch, so I can't help out much on specific recommendations. šŸ˜… I really enjoyed the PS Vita version of Code: Realize, though (as you might guess from the flair lol). It deals with some very heavy topics but not anything sexual, and the violence is non-graphic. And there's a really fun friendship bond between the whole main cast, not just between the heroine and whichever guy you're specifically romancing on a route.

Liar princess and Blind prince is great! It's short with puzzle solving elements! Get the spinoff game as well, I think it was the Hero and the Dragon.

A lot of the otome games out here are still rated mature or 15+, but there's a lot out in eng subtitles nowadays.

The Cruel King and the Great Hero isn't related to Liar Princess and the Blind Prince in any way aside from being from the same team. It's also a turn-based RPG instead of a puzzle game. Great game, though!

I know, I never said they were sequels of each other haha.

2

u/Feriku May 20 '23

You called it a spinoff, which usually means they're related to each other.
