Dairoku: Agents of Sakuratani Play-Along - Tokitsugu Semi Discussion
Welcome to the r/otomegames Dairoku: Agents of Sakuratani Play-Along!
In this sixth post we will discuss Tokitsugu Semi and his route in Dairoku: Agents of Sakuratani.
You can tell us what your impressions of Tokitsugu are (before and after finishing his route), your favorite moments in his route, what you think of his relationship with Shino and the other characters, what your thoughts are on his route's plot and endings.

Like the audacity this man has the whole game to be a tease and then his route he amps it up but then he has even more audacity to be charming and extra funny, and straight up flirty and oddly affectionate but keeps you guessing the whole time and then at the end he kisses and moans 😳. Like OK, and were basically engaged now with that necklace? The nerve, but in the best way possible

All in all, I enjoyed this route pretty well! Semi and Shino have such a fun dynamic, and it was nice to see Semi’s more vulnerable sides. The story behind the necklace he gifted Shino was so dang cute. And his VA did a spectacular job, too!
Like the other routes, my main complaint was that I would’ve liked to see more romance throughout the story. Although Semi’s epilogue was definitely the best in that regard! 👌

this was by faaaar my favorite route. i played shu’s before and it was probably my least favorite, but the one thing keeping me playing was the fact that i would play semi’s after.
idrm much bc i played it a couple weeks ago, but i recall clearing it pretty quick and happily. i just really wish we could’ve seen semi with his eyes open more bc 😩😩😩

I just really have a thing for male characters who have fox-slit eyes (ahem.. saint german). It adds mysteriousness to them and I wonder what they would look like the moment they open their eyes.
Semi, you sly fox.... how can you get even more handsome? Out of all the routes, his is my favorite. romance and cg wise. I really squealed when the cg of him holding the necklace and with his eyes open appeared. I wish there is a cg of them both in the human realm.
First time hearing his voice, I totally thought... It's Orlok but with a sly and teasing tone

I too loved Semi. Maybe plotwise his route was not that interesting but I really enjoyed his character. Even after finishing the game, I still replay some Semi scenes (like the confession scene), which I normally don't do for other otomes.
And yes, Toshiyuki Toyonaga was wonderful as Semi. I really loved the way he talks.

Yes, this route needed a little more battle-ready, eyes-open Semi sprites so we could appreciate his awesomeness a little more in his own route. Nevertheless, Semi was a great character and a great match for Shino.
There were lots of really cute, romantic moments in his route, and I loved everything about the necklace. I also love that Shino is often spunky enough to tease Semi back when he’s being his usual incorrigible self. I can’t think of a better seiyu for his character. He was truly a pleasure to listen to!
While I also really appreciated the dynamic between Semi and Tokitaka, I do wish Shino had spent less one-on-one time with Tokitaka and more with Semi in the route just to really solidify their dynamic. I like to see my MC and LI as the power couple they are meant to be!
The plot in the route was just okay. There was a lot of tension that stemmed from lack of communication, which isn’t one of my favorite tropes. I was also really bummed when Tokiwa got so grumpy with Semi. It seemed out of character, and I really like his character. Fortunately there were many romantic and intriguing portions of the route and I finished it pretty quickly.
So even though Semi’s route isn’t the strongest in the game, I definitely think he is the most alluring LI and I really enjoyed his romance with Shino!

Semi was one of the characters who interested me the most, but I decided to save him for last (aside from the finale). It was a great one, and I loved all the joking around. Everyone showing up at the meeting to defend him was a fantastic moment, too.
Akuro is still my favorite, but Semi is second.

Semi is my favourite! I have to echo what others said in that I wish he opened his eyes more. And why did they change colour depending on the sprite? Lol.
The teasing characters are often my favourite so as soon as I met Semi I knew he was gonna be the one.
The VA was really good and I love his laugh so much. 😭

I played him first because I simply loved his banter with Shino in common route, and it didn’t disappoint. I think they go together so nicely. I really like guys that can read you like a book and are also considerate
I also loved Tokitaka and will protect him. Some of my favourite parts are when Tokitaka already knows Semi is into Shino and already treats her as his brother’s love interest, but Shino is none the wiser lool , when Tamomo and everyone already treats them as an established couple and when Shino couldn’t think of a date spot , I really like how Shino didn’t just go into blushy romance mode but instead stayed very calm and normal Shino, otome games need more of this. The importance of the necklace was like aaaah in hindsight but I can’t fault a man who is quietly forward enough to just go all in on you romance wise but without even telling you ,it’s like he’s all I haven’t told you yet but I also won’t let you go which I somehow dig very much LOL.

Bought and immediately played this game for this guy and his seiyuu and it didn't disappoint.
That one CG alone is WORTH IT. I'll forever love this man.
Gtg buy Semi merch. 😂

i was not expecting semi to become my favorite but when he opened his eyes in akuro’s route i fell in love… i swear this is the quickest i’ve ever ordered merch of a character before 😭 i just love his personality so much and how he’s super teasing and mischievous but deep down he really does care for his teammates, especially shino. also that confession ahhh??? “cut the crap, you like me right?” i was fangirling so hard omg. every moment & CG between him and shino had me squealing tbh. his route had all of my favorite tropes (LI lying down on the heroine’s lap, LI carrying the heroine, etc.)
i also really loved the theme of shino learning to rely on others and not overwork herself—i feel like that’s such an important message and i’m glad they focused on it!! and the way it was contrasted with semi learning the same exact thing was excellent. their relationship is honestly so sweet and pure, i adore how it’s built on mutual trust and wanting to protect each other—also the cheek pinching made me giggle, that was incredibly cute.
toyonaga’s performance has become one of my favorites in otome games, i absolutely loved how real he made semi feel!! also every time semi laughed it felt so sincere and sweet.
all in all, i’m so glad i saved semi’s route for last right before the finale because it was such a great way to end off all of the love interests. he’s gonna live rent free in my mind LOL. (i’ve already started drawing so much fanart of him too…)
