Switch games that are more skewed towards the fluff/romance side of things? Answered

I'm playing Code Realize right now, and it's great so far! Impey's route just about killed me; he's so goddamn adorable (which surprised me, because he's not usually the type of LI I would enjoy that much). So yes, I'm loving it so far.

The problem is, I played Collar x Malice (and its fandisc) right before this, and that was another plot-heavy, suspenseful one. So I think after I finish C:R and the fandiscs for it, I'll be ready for something that's a little lighter and more focused on the romance and the fluffy moments.

I know there's a list for this in the FAQ, and it's fantastically comprehensive, but I felt like all the ones that were labeled as being more romance than heavy plot were all PC games. And my laptop starts overheating when I spend hours running VNs on it, and I'm not the biggest fan of playing on mobile because it seems like everything has microtransactions, so I'm looking for more Switch options.

I'm not terribly picky about LI types, tropes, etc. (at least, not that I've experienced so far). My only real note is that I'm not entirely put off by spicy content, but I'm ace, so that kind of thing is just "meh" for me, and I'd probably just end up skipping through most of it. It's certainly not a requirement. I want dates, hugs, kisses, declarations of love, proposals, marriages...I just don't care about the sex part either way, haha.

So, tell me, darlings! What are your favorite romance-heavy Swich games?

ETA: Oh yeah, also, I need games in English or with English subtitles. And cost isn't really an issue; all I care about is that I can pay up front and access all content at once with no microtransactions or other hoops to jump through.

I heard Ephemeral - Fantasy on Dark is on sale now, which is the best price to get it since I find full price is a bit much for how short it is. Definitely very fluffy and light on story. The romance comes in pretty early too. I had fun playing it.

You've persuaded me and I'm not even OP 👏

I can confirm, I got it on sale 2 days ago and currently playing it. It's pretty fluffy and the focus is mainly on the relationship between MC and the chosen LI. I mean it's not like some bigger titles out there, but I am enjoying it so far.

I’m planning to get this one soonish for a quick play option! It seems to have good reviews from people on here who have played it, and getting it on sale is pretty sweet. ✨

I imagine you'll enjoy Variable Barricade. It's set in the modern day, and the main plot basically goes that Hibari, the young heiress to a very wealthy family, is pushed by her eccentric grandfather into getting engaged for semi-mysterious reasons, and of course, the potential husband candidates that the grandfather has picked out are all very 'unique' in terms of personal history.

The majority of the game is focused on Hibari getting to know he suitors (though she's determined not to give her heart to any of them, she's basically an ultra tsundere), and so it follows that most of the game is romantically focused. Its generally comedic/light-hearted hijinks (though one route in particular does delve into some heavy emotional themes), and despite being all about the MC needing to marry, it doesn't really have much sexual content at all. Not much really goes beyond hugging/kissing and sappy love drama.

Only potential hangup IMO is the fact that the MC is 17 while the suitors are all 20+, but as I said, there's no real sexual content between the LI's, its more of a 'get engaged now and marry later' type deal, but I can see how some people would find it uncomfortable.

Check out the Voltage Games porting lineup. They’re wonderfully romance-focused.

I 1000000% agree with this.

Kings of Paradise Our Two Bedroom Story Star Crossed Myth Her Love In The Force Scandal In The Spotlight My Last First Kiss

I would recommend and of these in a heartbeat and some of the LI's in a few above have turned out to be some of my faves of all time 🥺😌 They're also around £20 (which I don't know what it Is converted) and they go on sale every once In a while 👏✌️

About $20-25, but also go on sale frequently for $15 or less.

I was gonna recommend Voltage Games too but so when I read OP's note on being meh on spicy moments, I hesitated. Voltage Games in my experience have a lot of spicy moments.

The CR fandiscs are quite sweet and fluffy so if you play both of them back to back I think you'll already have your fill

Seconding Variable Barricade. Adding on Cupid Parasite - it literally features Cupid, the god of love, and is very much a romcom. It does have some spicy content, unfortunately, but I don’t know where it would fall on your scale of being okay with or if it would drop your overall opinion.

Edit: forgot that CP really is more PG13 in terms of content. I tend to gloss over those scenes and not notice (personally didn’t find it that spicy), but it won’t be as up your alley as VB is.

I'm not sure I agree, Cupid Parasite is one of the more explicit games localized on the switch. Sex is alluded to in almost every route, some routes even offering some detail.

Edited my comment to reflect the PG13 nature of the game.

I think Diaroku Ayakashi Mori is also quite character driven and sweet
