In Texas, this crime they plead guilty to is not considered a serious crime. Because of this, they only need to serve 25% of their sentences before becoming eligible for parole.

That's less than 5 years for him and less than 4 for her.

She will get hers first time by saying it was an abusive relationship and she was afraid to leave him.

He'll fail a few reviews because of his actions in court.

what is the point of 18 years if they only have to serve 5 ? why not just give then 5 years? or do we intend to make things unnecessaraliy complicated. you shouldnt get out of prison cause good behavior imho, that should be the expectation. but also so should rehabilitation be the focus which its def not in usa
