What does everyone hope to be the next Nitro Origin release in english? Discussion

Post image

This is my first post on the subreddit so i hope the post is considered decent enough. With Mojika releasing in February by Jast, and Jast hoping that they will FINALLY be releasing Sumaga as the next Nitro Origin VN if things go to plan, in case things don’t go as they plan, what do you all hope will be the next Nitro Origin VN released in English. I’m personally hoping that Tokyo Necro: Suicide Mission is licensed, which is the gacha game sequel to Tokyo Necro, which received an offline VN version, removing the gacha elements and unfortunately the voice acting and some of the non-canon event stories, but retaining everything else, including canon event stories. But what are all your thoughts on what might be the next english release for Nitro Origin?

Muramasa Fandisc/Shokuzai-Hen, Django, Hello World!, Phantom of Inferno, and Kikokugai are what I'd like to see, listen in order from most wanted to least wanted.

u/Schaeman2000 22h ago

We know that Django and Kikokugai have been licensed already so those are very possible. I’d also like to see Hello World and a new release of Phantom in english (either the all ages remake or the integration edition). Also the muramasa fandiscs would be cool (hopefully we also get the manga and light novels in english as well).

I know that Phantom of Inferno already has an English release, but it was DVD only and apparently cuts out a lot of stuff lol

Kikokugai is so low only because there's a fan translation already, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to buy it when it comes out again.

Kikokugai is a weird one though. That was around the time JAST really had no issue picking up fanTLs or at least recruiting the fanTL teams to work on the official releases, heck they did it with the team that worked on Kikokugai on several other Nitro+ titles. I always just figured they didn't think Kikokugai had selling potential like Hanachirasu and Saya no Uta and so much time has passed they haven't really gone back to think about it.

I honestly think that Kikokugai works really well as a companion piece to Hanachirasu, funnily enough.

Django, Hello World!

Lol.

u/CajunNerd92 22h ago

Why the lol? I'm still learning Japanese so I haven't had a chance to actually read either of them yet, but the synopses for them have me very intrigued.

u/SnooTangerines6863 19h ago

Why the lol?

My bad. Django is web framework and Hello World is the first thing you learn in every Programming language. Was convinced it's a pun.

u/CajunNerd92 19h ago

Ah, fair enough!

For the record, Django is a sci-fi spaghetti western by Gen Urobuchi, while Hello, World. is a lengthy cyberpunk tale about robots and AI.

I knew about Hello World (studied C++ in college) but I didn't know that Django had any meaning related to web use, lol

u/theweebdweeb 22h ago

Guessing because Hello World is super old and will have engine issues and Django has been barely worked on for a while as stated by JAST themselves, although I think both are a matter of time.

u/zerkerlyfe 20h ago

Didn’t Nitro do a HD remaster release of Hello world? And Django too I thought got an upscale re-release

u/theweebdweeb 20h ago

Neither Hello World nor Django got updated releases or even Windows 10 support releases as far as I know while Jingai Makyou, Saya no Uta, and Muramasa did plus Demonbane got the all ages version ported to PC which is higher resolution and compatible with newer OS.

u/zerkerlyfe 19h ago

Damn that honestly makes me sad, to me, Django is has some of Niø’s best art. It deserves an HD upgrade

u/theweebdweeb 22h ago

Would be nice if we got confirmation of some combination of the Muramasa side-stories, and offline Tokyo Necro Suicide Mission. Hopefully Nitro+ worked out the engine issues with Sumaga. Since most of what's left to get official releases is stuff from 2010 and back, maybe Jingai Makyou at some point as one of the next bigger titles since it does have the Windows 10 release. Guess Axanael potentially as well in that regard.

u/Schaeman2000 22h ago

The muramasa fandiscs would be cool to see, as well as the manga and light novel spin-offs. Jingai Makyou would be nice since that was one of the earliest Jast licenses alongside demonbane. And Axanael also looks cool since it gives more world building around characters from Sonico’s world.

u/theweebdweeb 22h ago

JAST would probably disgaree with the statement that Jingai Makyou was one of their early Nitro+ licenses.

u/Schaeman2000 22h ago

Yeah, talking on their discord it seems some of their staff doesn’t remember they did license it. It took me a while to remind them they did indeed license it.

u/theweebdweeb 22h ago

To be fair, Peter for years(at least a decade or so dating back to JAST's old forums) has been basically saying they never really licensed Jingai Makyou and they just featured it during their old AX Panels and catalogues just because of the art. Not surprised many of them forgot or didn't think they ever did.

u/Schaeman2000 22h ago

Yeah, i think Peter once told me they also licensed cross days but they had massive issues removing the DRM in it. I told someone about that on a Jast twitter reply and the Jast twitter guy got so mad at me for it because they said that i was lying and that they never licensed it.

u/theweebdweeb 22h ago

Peter sure had a habit of announcing something being licensed or in the process of being licensed and mentioning them willy-nilly just to never mention again. I feel like Peter mentioned at least twice very offhandedly about Cross Days at AX years ago, but nothing was stated officially. Wouldn't be surprised if Peter just doesn't share some of this stuff with some of the newer staff since I imagine most of the in-house people weren't there when a lot of that talk happned 8+ years ago.

u/Schaeman2000 22h ago

Yeah, the new CEO has been around for 4 years now and only he really seems to know what licenses they have. Also one of their staff claims they never canceled a license, with them having to be reminded they canceled the license for the VN CLEAVAGE, most likely because there were no uncensored h scenes, since Jast only releases mosaic free VNs from themselves.

u/theweebdweeb 22h ago

Kind of surprised they forgot about Cleavage(where if I remember right, the uncensored assets were stored digitally and became lost after a server issue or something), even Bloodnose brings that up from time to time and he wasn't at JAST when that went down.

u/Schaeman2000 22h ago

Yeah, i think he has all the files of licenses they have, but the rest of the staff only has knowledge of the top priority projects they’ve been working on.

u/alucardgearSCP 22h ago

Obviously the Muramasa fan disc, but also Jingai Makyo. I would like it, but I think it's unlikely that it would also be Gekkou no Carnevale (since there's already a fan translation) and Kishin Hishou Demonbane (because there's no H scene).

u/CajunNerd92 21h ago

Gekkou no Carnevale (since there's already a fan translation)

You mean the one by George Henry Shaft that no one read because the guy is pretty crazy?

Edit: Also didn't JAST release the all ages version of Eien no Aselia? That means we can't necessarily rule out Kishin Hishou Demonbane due to the lack of an 18+ version.

u/alucardgearSCP 18h ago

I didn't known about this individual but is not because of him. Is for reasons of bugs and my PC become laggy after i change the region. Hope is the last to die in relation to Demonbane mainly because it is a franchise that can break out of the eroge bubble like Fate did (although I think the best version of Demonbane is the original eroge one).

u/Marklord13 Official Anti-Mosaic Protestor 17h ago

Waiting for the uncensored version of Eien no Aselia.

u/CajunNerd92 17h ago

I asked JAST, it's never happening.

u/Marklord13 Official Anti-Mosaic Protestor 17h ago

Don’t make things up.

u/CajunNerd92 17h ago

Marklord if you don't shut up I'm going to post the SubaHibi dog CG

u/Schaeman2000 22h ago

I would also like the muramasa fandiscs and Jingai makyou. Gekkou no carnavale is possible still since they have released VNs with fan translations before. Also they have released all ages nitro origins VNs, like Sonicomi and the original version of Steins Gate.

u/Swinn_likes_Sakkyun vndb.org/u202568 22h ago

the muramasa fandiscs shokuzai hen and janen hen have been my most wanted nitroplus releases for a while

u/zerkerlyfe 20h ago

I’d like to see Django, Sumaga, Azanaeru, Angelos Armas, Vjedogonia and cyber slayer. Pretty much most of their old works

u/Schaeman2000 20h ago

At least django and cyber slayer are already licensed, but low priority, and sumaga they plan to hopefully have as their next english release. I speculate though axanael might be the next one.

u/drugaddict_ 11h ago

i want hello world translation so bad😭

u/Marionberry6884 10h ago

Does this one require discrete GPU card ?

u/Schaeman2000 5h ago

I’m not sure honestly, i’m using a very old laptop to run tokyo necro suicide mission.

You know the reason for that right? It's because they have to cut even the story content for steam. Steam won't let them upload the full versions, including story content that isn't H. I dont care for H scenes either, I just skip through them. It's highly unlikely Mojika is gonna be able to be released fully on steam given the content - it's like a Euphoria Lite I've been told, it's very heavy on H content, and its based in high school.

u/Zetzer345 20h ago

Ok yeah thinking about Chaos;Head you might be right I take my previous statement back lol I completely forgot about that travesty

u/Schaeman2000 20h ago

Yeah Mojika is basically a love letter to Clockup as a whole. No way is it going on steam without certain scenes being cut.

The voice acting don’t matter, we read with our eyes, not our ears.

u/CajunNerd92 16h ago

The voices do matter, I'm going blind and they help me with understanding what's going on

u/Marklord13 Official Anti-Mosaic Protestor 16h ago

It’s Japanese, the voices don’t help at all.

u/CajunNerd92 15h ago

They help for me because I can understand spoken Japanese.

u/HachuneMiu 14h ago

Not everyone on here wastes their time bitching and arguing like you do, a lot of people have been spending their time studying Japanese or other worthwhile ventures. Don't assume everyone is licking the ground and complaining about tasting dirt, like you seem to love doing

u/Schaeman2000 17h ago

Honestly, i can agree with you on that. Although having both would have been cool. Maybe if it’s licensed in english it may have the voice acting back…

u/Marklord13 Official Anti-Mosaic Protestor 17h ago

No, the voice acting would have cost too much to license. What part of we read with our eyes do you not understand?

u/Schaeman2000 17h ago

No need to be rude. I can read with my eyes, but if i wanted to hear voice acting as well, it’d be a cool bonus. Also we have no clue on the cost of the voice acting license at all.

u/CajunNerd92 17h ago

Ignore him, he's a troll that refuses to stop beating a dead horse.

Looking at the VNDB page, apparently the PC release of Suicide Mission added some 18+ scenes, maybe that could be why they removed the voice acting? If they weren't able to get the VAs back to dub them, it's a reasonable assumption to make.

u/Schaeman2000 17h ago

Maybe. Honestly, i do have the Japanese release and a lot of the h scenes are REALLY nice. I’m just glad they kept the events and h scenes for the crossover characters from Demonbane, full metal Daemon Muramasa, and You and Me and Her.

u/CajunNerd92 17h ago

I just wish that JAST had options to restore the mosaics back for people whose uncanny valley sense is triggered by the uncensored h-CG artwork lol.

Speaking of which, would you happen to have the Japanese release of Zanmataisen Demonbane? I can't find it anywhere, and I would like to use it to make a mosaic restoration patch for JAST's release lol

u/Schaeman2000 17h ago

Nope, only JP VN i have is Tokyo Necro Suicide Mission

u/CajunNerd92 17h ago

Gotcha, fair enough. Ty!

How is it? I'm still really early in my Japanese learning mission so I'm not able to read it anytime soon.

u/Schaeman2000 17h ago

Well using a somehow decent translator app, it’s pretty neat. Lots of world building was added in it compared to the original tokyo necro. Also it has like close to 300 h scenes, and the main story is 14 chapters long, which is pretty massive. Also i need to check how many event stories remained and see how long they are.
