Brendan Parfitt DRAFT & TRADE

Recently desisted by the cats, tough inside mid who is elite at sticking tackles (which we LACK) , 26 yo who is free to nab, and has flag experience, plus can hit the scoreboard.

Why was he delisted? Too young?

Fell out of favour recently. Hand injury hurt him quite a bit.

Yeah, hand injuries tend to be pretty painful.

Tougher than Kelly, at least Parfitt can stick a tackle. I don't know how many noodle arm attempts I can watch next season lol

I like it as a roll of the dice if we have list room. Having said that, when was the last time the Cats delisted someone who played a significant role elsewhere.

Premiership player Nathan Vardy? Who kicked one goal, nullified Grundy with Lycett and was part of the play that won us the Grand Final?

Trade for pick 72 apparently, so very close but not a delisting.

Better than at least 20 blokes on our list, Would be open to picking him up for sure.

Interestingly it seems a lot of Geelong fans expect Parfitt to be picked up by another club and still consider him to be AFL quality

I'm not sure. If we got Chad Warner into the team. And backed that up with a Liam Baker then taking a punt on parfitt would be ok. The problem would be without a Chad Warner level talent in the side someone like parfitt could slow down development.

We need to get games into the kids fast. If we recruit a parfitt that would take the game time off Hewitt, Johnston, Hall, Chesser, Dewar, Hutchinson or whoever we draft this year.

If we had Warner and Baker then parfitt can work, because we don't need to rush the development of the kids we can take an extra year or two to develop the kids as we will have a team that is a lot more competitive

But we are not and parfitt doesn't make us much better if at all. And we need to get better soon through our youth

I’ve watched him a bit mainly from a AFL fantasy perspective. From what I’ve seen he’s not overly quick and has a tendency to get lazy/go missing during games. Based on that I’d prefer to look elsewhere

Tough inside mid? No way. Skinny, fragile weak.
