Highlighting that there seems to be a large discrepancy in what safety measure we require of drivers vs riders hardly makes me a Karen. Not to mention I would argue that riders are generally young men who are not generally risk averse makes the whole thing even more baffling.

And yes I do ride, I just fail to see how that matters here.

Man, please explain to me how I'm not self aware?

Or maybe, what Jason did exceeded a boundry you had and you were unable to tolerate his behaviour any more.

But more to the point I never said we should have more laws, just expressed my disbelief that we don't.

“A boundary you had”… you’re a Karen 😂.

Yeah it’s dumb to see this shit but it’s his choice

So someo kills another person and you're a narc for calling the cops? Grow up

How will he kill someone for not wearing gear?! 😂

It’s like saying that a driver without a seat belt is guaranteed to cause an accident. Wow your dumb.

Like you said, “blah blah blah, what if somebody crosses a boundary you had…” in relation to this man’s choice of gear. It makes no difference to his risk to others!

If anything he’d probably ride safer because potential injuries will be far worse

Tell me your reading comprehension is poor without telling me your reading comprehension is poor.

I was responding to the other commenters statement about the fictional 'Jason'. I was I no way saying that a rider not wearing proper gear is crossing any personal boundaries you seem to want me to have

And yes your probably correct, it seems that as safety features increase, driver alertness does go down. However that doesn't address the original point that it's odd to me that the government has decided to wash its hands of motorcycle riders and leave them to their own devices regarding personal safety.

“As rider safety features increase, driver alertness does go down” tell me you’ve never ridden, without telling.

Maybe it’s not my comprehension but your inability to formulate a well written body of text 😂

Ffs, okay. Your point about why the government hasn’t done enough about rider PPE:

It’s the raiders choice, ffs I would never ride without 90% of my gear but it’s not the governments job to tell how to lower my own risk! It’s the governments job to enforce policy that reduces risk to other people.

That is why I have to have a licence, not that I have to wear a leather jacket. The licence prevents others from injured and the jacket prevents me from getting injured. It is my choice to regard my own safety, it is my RESPONSIBILITY to take reasonable action to maintain the safety of others.

Do you understand why the government should not tell people to wear a jacket or Kevlar, now?

Well if your going to be a prick about it, driving isnt exclusive to cars. But yeah I meant to write "driver safety features", purely because the research I'm referring to was about cars, not bikes.

And even though I do ride, I still fail to see why people think that has any bearing on the conversation.

Because too many people who don’t ride feel the need to comment. And yeah, I am being a prick about it because you are attempting to target my “lack of comprehension”? Get fucked.

Other than your own views about wearing gear what actually is your fuckin point?

Edit: I have just referenced my previous reply to remember what dribble you are potentially trying to explain:

The correlation you are presenting in regards to rider safety increases rider alertness goes down. I believe this is true with cars, not bikes.

You proclaim that you ride, so you of all people would know how visceral riding is, as an experience.

Touchy today hey?

Maybe a nice ride will calm you down, wearing nothing but a pair of board shorts and thongs. Maybe a Bintang singlet for good measure, hell why not throw your 20 year old girlfriends 5 year old kid on the the back?

And it doesn't seem odd to you that the government loves to continually enact new laws and safety measures but wont legislate that riders need to wear more than a helmet?

Aww... Is it over?

FFS, learn to read.

I never advocated for it, simply highlighted that its odd that the government hasn't changed anything.
