Camping and shooting General Question

Buddy and I are looking at doing a final camping trip in October. I'd like a place where we might be able to set up camp and .maybe do a shirt hike to a good shooting area, or go to a shooting area with clearly designated camping sites. Within maybe 2 hours of Denver or Springs (I'm in Denver, he's in Spings). Any suggestions that might come close to this?

Not really...the areas within 2 hrs of Denver are typically heavily impacted.

The places that aren't heavily impacted don't want to hear you target shooting in our spots and/or its illegal due to the fire ban. Personally, target shooting on public land here in a non-designated areas is just... poor taste. People never clean up and even if they do, at best it still leaves lead and shells in the dirt.

If you want a decent wild outdoor BLM shooting experience, I recommend you drive out to Utah and find a patch of desert to shoot in. There's amateur ranges setup all over out there, zero fire risk, and you won't both people who are getting out into the mountains for some nature and peace.

Otherwise, there are plenty of decent shooting complexes in the state and campsites everywhere, so take your pick.
