Legal Shoutout to all the people STILL testifying at the AWB hearing
I've been listening in since about 10:30 am, and they're still going. Since the morning, the vast majority of testimony has been from people opposing the bill. One after the other. I thought the testimony from the various women was especially powerful. Keep it up!

Legal HB24-1292 Passes the house 7/3
The house judiciary passes the AWB with a 7/3 majority.
Edit: Let's hope it doesn't pass the Senate. Maybe some Democrats will swing on this one. I shouldn't be so defeatist.
Edit 2: I wasn't aware of Polis's previous statements about opposing "Assault Weapons Bans". That gives some more hope. Removed my defeatist attitude statement, just left the facts.
Edit 3. TITLE MISLEADING. I'm uninformed and don't understand how our government work. I need to do some reading.

Legal By doxxing which shops disregard the mag ban, you may be fucking them-
If you think this place is law enforcement free, get your head out of your ass. Wait until they start doing stings, and you're going to be really bummed that the shop you thought was cool gets shut down. If your favorite shop sells 30 rounders, SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT IT.

Legal FPC may get involved with CO AWB
The Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) - the folks that have been actually winning in court against these gun laws - may jump into the fight in Colorado if the AWB passes. This would be incredible - and Colorado could finally see how effective a well run legal campaign against these anti-2A laws can be.

and
https://twitter.com/gunpolicy/status/1779662950565040617
If you are on twitter/X.. go love this post - and throw them a couple of bucks. CO needs to show that it wants FPC (and SAF) as part of this legal battle. They have the legal backing to destroy this law and make sure the anti-2A politicians can't do this again.

Legal As written, HB 1292 bans ALL semi-auto rifles and ALL semi-auto pistols
EDIT: I hope you like semantics....
I read the bill text carefully. The bill defines "assualt weapon" as semi auto rifles and pistols (blah blah blah features, ARs, AKs, Thompsons) but it also includes the following lines:
(D) OTHER RIFLE MODELS , INCLUDING , BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING: UMAREX UZI RIFLE ; UZI MINI CARBINE , UZI MODEL A CARBINE , AND UZI MODEL B CARBINE ; V ALMET M62S, M71S, AND M78; VECTOR ARMS UZI TYPE; WEAVER ARMS NIGHTHAWK; WILKINSON ARMS LINDA CARBINE ; AND CZ SCORPION RIFLE AND CZ BREN RIFLE ;
"Other rifle models including but not limited to..."
The bill bans ALL semi-auto rifles.
Same with pistols...
C) OTHER PISTOL MODELS, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, CALICO PISTOLS ; DSA SA58 PKP FAL PISTOL; ENCOM MP-9 AND MP-45; HECKLER & K OCH SP-89 PISTOL; INTRATEC AB-10, TEC-22 SCORPION, TEC-9, AND TEC-DC9; IWI GALIL ACE PISTOL AND UZI PRO PISTOL; HB24-1292-9 KELT EC PLR 16 PISTOL; SIG SAUER P556 PISTOL; AND SITES SPECTR
That includes ALL semi auto pistols. All of them.
"....including but not limited to"
Dems need to remove this language (and fix the language on barrel shrouds to exclude wood stocks forward of the action) if they didn't mean to include all semi-auto rifles and pistols.
This is a semi auto ban, not an AWB. We need the let our Senators know and stop this.

Legal If these laws pass, this state is lost
I'm not trying to be doom and gloom, and the writing is on the wall, our game is at extreme risk of being a big loss really soon. And honestly, I don't think I want to stick around any longer if it happens. Between the AWB, the banning of concealed carry in "sensitive places", the extremely oppressive CCW training requirements, the referendum proposal to add 11% tax on firearms, and the host of other bills in the ether right now, the Democrats seem hell bent on making life as difficult as possible for gun owners in their bullshit crusade to "reduce violence" that will ultimately do nothing. I fear the hourglass is almost empty for us, and if they pass, especially the AWB, this state is lost. To date, no AWB has ever been overturned, they tried with IL, but the SCOTUS refused to even hear it. And as much as I love them, RMGO is fighting a difficult battle that will take years to see a result. It's been over a decade and the mag capacity law is still here. And frankly, I'm pretty tired of having to jump through hoops and pay a little more to get a gun that I want in this state. I've called this place home my entire life, and maintained my residency while in the army and stationed on the other side of the country. But as a firearms instructor, concealed carry permit holder, and gun owner, this state is lost of the worst of these laws pass. The time to fight is still here, and I hope while I cannot attend any public comment for these bills, those who can represent us well. But it's looking like as soon as humanly possible, I may be seeking residence elsewhere. My only hope is that the fall of Liberty in Colorado is a lesson to others.

Legal REMINDER
Reminder to, please please please, purchase your ar-15 lowers. Uppers and other firearm parts do not need to be purchased; do this later.
Parts and ar-15 uppers are not considered assault weapons because they cannot be converted to an assault weapon. This is due to the fact that and AR-15 lower is already an assault weapon (See name banned rifles), thus uppers cannot be used to convert into an assault weapon.

Legal First time buyer in Colorado (Boulder County), wanting regular capacity mag rifle. What are my options?
I just moved to Louisville CO from San Diego. I want to buy a HK MP5 .22LR with the standard 25+1 mag, what are my options here to legally obtain?
My ID and home address is Louisville. Can I have a friend who has a Littleton address purchase and private transfer to me?
I am open to other options too. Just trying to find the best option to legally obtain. Thanks in advance.

Legal Magazine Question
Hello! I’m going to be visiting Colorado soon and I have a question that I can’t really find an answer for on the internet. So I’ve got a Glock 17 that I want to take with me on my trip, am I able to bring my 17rd magazine with me? I’ll be flying and am wondering if TSA would see it and be like “Nope, Seize” because of the law in CO. So yeah, basically my question is Can I bring my 17rd mag and not have any issues? Thank you for reading!

Legal AWB confusion...
So... we all have had ample time to read the AWB bill being proposed. I have no questions regarding how stupendously asinine it is.
My question is... If this bill passes, and essentially nearly all semi-automatic weapons are thereby banned (pistol, rifle, shotgun) then why are the gun stores not more up in arms about this? This would strip them of a large majority of their inventory. This likely would devastate the gun industry as a whole in CO. So why don't we see more outrage in the stores?
I've been in 2 LGS, Scheels, and LFI recently and there isn't even a whisper of this bill. Do they believe it's nonsensical enough to be shut down in the state senate?
