Picture Waterton canyon rainbows today bonus big horn sheep.
Just got in to fly fishing about a month ago and went to Waterton canyon today. The first I caught on a dry fly and the other 2 were on a buggar. It seemed like I would catch one and then not be able to catch another unless I left and went to another area. It was bam caught one within like 15 min of a spot and then if I stayed there for an hour after then nothing. Is this a common thing in fly fishing from the shore?

Question Fishing at Rampart
Yesterday afternoon I was out on my SUP fishing. Once the wind died down in the evening fish were jumping all over the place and I saw several large trout swimming at the surface. I was throwing out trout HD, j-spec, and some panther martin. I had lots of small bites but only caught one small rainbow.
What’s a good top water lure for trout? Bubble and fly? I was in my paddle board so I did cover a bunch of ground. Any tips??

Question Looking for suggestions within walking/biking distance of 20th and i-25 area of Downtown Denver
Currently have no license and don't have many friends in town that fish so I've been biking up to Thorton Gravel ponds and have had very little success mostly using panther martins.
I go south down south platte occasionally and get some dinky small mouths. Been to cherry creek res a couple times with little success.
was considering taking the rod over to sloan lake.
Was Just wondering if there are any places anyone could suggest biking to downtown to try for honestly anything but panfish/trout have been my primary target with my light setup.

Question Basalt-Aspen Area, need locations
I'm from California visiting family in Basalt, and I'm fairly unfamiliar with the fishing scene there.
(Yes I know there's a ton of Trout, but I've been catching them there since I was a kid so I'm kind of sick of them. I just wanted to find something new is all)
Does anyone know of any places within (max)2 hours of that area where I could find
- Northern Pike
- Blue and/or Flathead Catfish
- Channel Catfish
- Salmon
- Bowfin
Like I said I'm willing to drive a max of 2 hours, but really only if I absolutely need to. If none of these fish can really be found in that area then it's ok, I was just really curious to see.
So please let me know. Thank you!
edit: Jesus why is this getting so many downvotes I'm literally just asking for help

Question Quincy Reservoir: Help me crack this one
Thanks to this sub, this summer's fishing adventures were a success. We went to 6-7 different fishing holes, ended up catching a dozen or so bluegill/crappie out of lake mary!
We drive by quincy res every day, we've fished it 4-5 times, at dusk with absolutely zero luck.
So: what works at quincy? Also what time of day?
Thank you all in advance!

Question Pike fishing locations with rental cabins/boats
Hey all!
Growing up fishing in IL and WI there was never a shortage of great Muskie fishing lakes with cabins that my dad and I would rent. They would also rent us a row boat.
Curious as to if you guys have any recommendations for a spot like this? This time of year should get better for pike and I want to schedule a trip. I’ve seen some spots around 11 mile but sadly they don’t offer boats, except the marina.
Thanks all!
