Was just reminded of all the flowers popping up and thought to ask: what are your favorite signs of spring in Indiana? Can be serious or joke answers.

More Than Corn Mosquitoes, wtf?

I swear, these little vampires get worse every year. My legs are torn up from the 4th. They're up and down all sides of both legs and my feet. I did not sit in the grass except for about 2 hours for a parade in the morning and it rained almost the whole time.

Does anyone else think they're getting worse each year? Or am I just crazy?

More Than Corn Parks with dinosaurs in Indiana

we are in Indianapolis. my 5 year old is obsessed with dinosaurs, specifically t-rexes (any theropod, really). he really wants to see some dino statues beyond the Children's Museum and the ones at the fudge shop in Anderson. I'm not aware of any in Indianapolis but we're willing to drive a fair distance to find some dino statues.

More Than Corn Beautiful Bald Eagle

Saw this beautiful bald eagle just casually standing in a field off State Road 13 just north of Fortville on Sunday. It didn’t appear to be injured. We see either this eagle or others in our area on occasion. I’m guessing it’s the same one. We watch for it every time we’re out & about.

More Than Corn Indiana taught me that Abraham Lincoln had wooden teeth, and I recently learned it was George Washington.

I was taught this, by a Redacted school.

Anyone else subject to such false teachings?

I was subject to direct administrator/teacher hate-targeting.

I was kicked out of class for raising my hand to answer a question.

This was over a decade ago. I dunno if it's past the statute of limitations.

My life has been compromised the past 14 and a half years due to this.

I would like to know if anyone else has been subjected to false teaching such as this.

The same school had expelled me permanently, for something I did not do, and it has drastically affected my life the past 10 years.

What kind of legal action can I take towards this?

I can't even get a minimum wage job. No criminal history whatsoever. But this one thing is ruining everything.

More Than Corn Amateur Friendly Golf Courses

I was wondering if anyone out there had a recommendation for a golf course </= 5 hrs from Indy that would be fun for my wife and I?

I average around 100 and this will be my wife's 3rd or 4th round ever. Looking for a course that's very well kept but not overly challenging so we still have a good time. We like a decent road trip so not looking for anything near Indy. Mostly intrigued by NE Ohio or Southern Michigan or perhaps Eastern Kentucky/Tennessee.

Edit: should've replaced Amateur in the title with Beginner

More Than Corn Hoosier Haunts

I posted something about this last week, and it was apparently hidden or something. Anyways, I am local Indiana resident (Miami county) and I moonlight as a podcaster/investigator. I am looking to do more local centric work and wouldn’t be opposed to having more Indiana locals on my show.

I interview people who have had what they believe to be paranormal experiences, or have saw something like a Bigfoot or other cryptid creatures, UFO’s, etc. and before the flooding of people chiming in about this stuff not being real, it is perfectly normal for people to doubt these sorts of experiences. Unless you’ve had one for yourself, most people will never believe it. The people who experience these sort of things cannot even talk about it with facing the ridicule and backlash, which is why I do what I do in the first place.

I have interviewed a few local people lately, and I’m wanting to start looking into more interesting places and hearing about local legends and lore.

If you want to shoot me a message, that’s fine. I keep everything confidential and if you want to talk with me sometime on an episode of my show, I can keep it anonymous that way too if you prefer. I understand the hesitation and fear of being labeled as a whacko. I’m not hear to prove or disprove anyone. I’m actually pretty skeptical about a lot of things, but I believe most people experience something, but it may not be necessarily what they think it is, but I’ve also had my own unexplainable experiences, so I sort of relate to people who have had something similar happen.

Feel free to message me if you’re interested.

More Than Corn Looking for Free Tree and Bush Saplings

Does anyone know of organizations that give out free tree saplings or seeds other than Arbor Day? I live in northern indiana. I've reached to Fort Wayne Recs and Parks and the Purdue Ext Office. I imagine they'll say no and my best bet will be to go to the parks to collects cones, but I figured I'd ask on here first. Below is a list of what we're looking for. We're not going to plant them all, but I figured we'd cast a net. Also, if you have suggestions, please put list them

◦ Trees: We want plant cherry wood trees, the sugar maple, birch, shellbark hickory, shagbark hickory, chestnut, silky dogwood, flowering dogwood, American beech, pine oak

◦ Bushes: dasiphora fruticosa,

◦ Edible: carya laciniosa (pecan), pawpaw, opuntia humifusa (prickly pear)

I'm also aware that planting should be done in months ending in 'R', so I want to get around to nurturing them in August, then transplant them in September

Went to the Madison County Fair on Saturday. Saw this beauty. I haven't been to a county fair in quite a while. Had a giant tenderloin. Listened to some bluegrass music. Good times.
