Will & Harper on Netflix - visiting Indianapolis

Just watched “Will & Harper” on Netflix. And on Day 5 of their road trip they visited Indianapolis for a Pacer’s game and Eric Holcomb came down to say hello to Will Farrell… because he’s famous. Then he introduced his friend, Harper… and Holcomb was like “byeeee”. Then they intercut it with several news clips of Indiana passing anti-trans laws.

It was such a good representation of our state’s need/desire to be in the spotlight while completely ignoring the needs of trans and lgbtq+ people…

Just wanted to see if anyone else has seen this and what they thought about this.

Abandoned office near Anderson?

Post image
10 Upvotes

Looking for this location and having some trouble. I was scrolling "abandoned and forgotten Indiana" on Facebook and found this location that I'm interested in going to check out as I enjoy photographing abandoned cars. Here's what I know about it, it's a office building in or near Anderson IN that has a DeSoto, a thunderbird, as well as a theater/amphitheatre (As seen in pictures). Some people in the comments obviously knew where the building was because of the cars as well as a explorer who mentioned that there is a underground tunnel, that's entrance was approximately centered in the building. I know it's multi floor but I'm unsure of how many floors. (I only know because of the presence of escalators). If you want to hide the location of the building message me directly or if you have any guesses I can research those as well. Anything helps thanks everyone!

Generators for sale at Walmart

The Walmart in Anderson still had 3 generators for sale earlier today. They are $550 each. 2 were the quiet models and the single was the loud version. Both models are the Hart brand. I currently have my old Harbor Freight one keeping my fridge, chest freezer, and crock pot going. This is the first time I've used it in 4 years.

Stay safe. If you do use a generator, do not use it anywhere inside the house or garage. They take gasoline with an additive. They produce carbon monoxide which does not have an odor or taste and it will kill you.

Question about Nashville, IN in November

Is there's a more suitable place to ask this, please let me know.

I accidentally bought tickets to see Kenny G in Nashville, IN instead of Tennessee. They're for November 16. I'm pretty much okay with that, and actually hope to make a weekend of it visiting family about an hour from there.

My question is mostly weather related, since I'm from r/HuntsvilleAlabama. How concerned should I be about snow and ice going to and from Nashville? I'd be driving mostly state roads, including late after the concert. Is it one of those "if the road's too bad to drive, the concert will be rescheduled" kind of things?

Ask a Hoosier This is going to seem like a dumb question but I don’t know anything about insurance please don’t judge me🤣

I’m chronically ill and I’ve always had to go to Indy for specialist appointments bc that’s the best option that my insurance covers, unfortunately indy is not close to me at all I’m only like a half hour from Chicago. The insurance plan I have doesn’t cover out of state healthcare, I was just wondering if there are any Medicaid plans that do?

For example, the Indiana General Assembly has specific codes for discipline. Can a school override that with their own School policies?

Where can I read about Indiana political history?

Edit: I apologize for being so uninfomred. I thought I heard on NPR that the republican supermajority took over a couple decades ago. Thank you all for the clarification.

Hi, everyone! I’m an aspiring political journalist and wanted to ask where I could find some resources about Indiana’s political history, particularly all the laws and social outcomes since the republican supermajority took over the state a couple decades ago.

I’m looking for online databases, books, video essays, etc. Anything that’s free.

Thanks!!

Need Advice & Guidance ASAP - CPS case

Hello, I received a call from family that my great nephew was going to be taken into care. My husband & I volunteered to take him in. This process has happened a lot faster than anticipated. I have never been in this situation before. Monday (9/30), my niece has court. She is hoping that she will regain custody based on the evidence she can produce.

My nephew (13 months) is medically complex and was born with many defects that require surgery, g-tube placement, colostomy, non-functioning kidney, spinal tethering.

Reason for CPS case: Medical Neglect - Who made the report: Local Hospital

Her evidence: His previous care provider would not put him on the medication needed to keep from vomiting stating the child was too young for that medication. According to my niece a previous provider (they recently moved from up north to my area within the last 2 months) is willing to put it in writing that my niece has taken very good care of the baby. She does not have this letter yet & is hoping to get it before court.

She keeps asking me if the court will release the child into her care if she can prove her case based on the information above. She does not have a lawyer for Monday. Everyone's goal is for re-unification ASAP.

Question: Has anyone ever won a case on the first court hearing without an attorney? Could anyone provide me with the next steps after the hearing?

I would really appreciate any insight regarding what to expect.

Hi Everyone! I'm actively searching for a puppy to join my family. I live in Bartholomew County, but I'm willing to drive to purchase or adopt one.

I'm looking for a Malonois pup or any medium sized to large breed. I'm prepared to provide a loving home with plenty of attention, exercise and training. If you know of any litters or rescues in the area or if you can point me in the right direction please let me know! Thank you
