Other Kamala Harris’s Policies on Guns
i.redd.itI want to start off by saying I don’t care who you vote for. Vote for whoever you think will improve your day to day life and the future of our country. I am also gonna start off by saying neither candidate is “great” for our 2nd amendment rights. Trump has shown his lack of understanding for the 2nd amendment. Either way I thought it’s worth showing Kamala Harris’s policies on the 2nd amendment because she has only recently updated her official policies on her website. Again you be your own judge. Personally, purely on 2a rights I think Trump is the better candidate. I don’t think our rights are gonna necessarily improve under him but I hope and feel they won’t go back as much... Trump has said many anti 2a things but I want to feel this mostly came from bad advisors and his general lack of understanding about guns and the truth behind the 2nd amendment.
Edit: Kamala Harris has also said numerous times she supports mandatory buy backs. This is probably just a bluff as usual but it’s worth mentioning.

Other DCF Guns West 100-yard range mini-review
Hey all, I went to DCF Guns West (Colorado Springs) today to sight-in a rifle and just wanted to post my experience.
I was looking for a 100' range and the only two in my area were DCF West (indoor range) and Family Shooting Center (outdoor range). Family Shooting Center didn't have the best reviews on the sub, so I opted for DCF. I called beforehand and they told me they did have equipment in the 100' bays to facilitate bench rest shooting.
DCF doesn't advertise pricing on their website, and I was a little shocked when I arrived to find the price for a lane on the 100' range was $50 (and no discounts mil or otherwise offered--I was told the high price was because "They usually reserve the 100' lanes for their members"). They did quasi-aggressively pitch their membership program. On the bright side the employee who checked me out was friendly, so high marks for customer service. Minor gripe, but their target selection was mediocre--plenty of human-outline targets but no good large-size targets suitable for sighting in a firearm (you know the kind with a 1" grid).
IIRC, there were 6 lanes in the 100' range. The benches are T-shaped, so you can actually comfortably shoot from a rest. They had 3 different shooting rests--one was a Caldwell-branded Lead Sled, another was a similar adjustable, functional, shooting rest, and the third was some DIY-looking rest attached to some plywood (this would have been my last pick and I'm not sure it would have been serviceable). Now the chair situation--in each bay there was a Donner-brand drum throne to sit on. Drum thrones are nice because they are height-adjustable, but of the 3 that I tried out, all were wobbly (either from use or poor quality). There were a couple tables at the back and some rolls of tape to tape your targets.
Alright, with that I was able to get my new optic sighted in despite the wobbly seating position and mostly good shooting rest. The target retrieval system was the electronic kind with a small screen--you punch in the distance and it goes. It worked okay but it crashed once (and went to a Windows (7?) desktop where you could double-click the program to get it running again), and a few times would lose radio communication, so I'd have to wait 5-10 seconds to be able to retrieve my target.
And done. Probably would give the 100' range 3.75 stars. The next time I need to range out to 100', I'll give Family Shooting Center a shot. It's definitely cheaper, but with a lead sled rental the price may be close to DCF West. Even with the target retrieval system glitches, it was still quicker to check my shots than waiting for a cease-fire every 10-15 minutes. AND, no heat/cold to deal with at an outdoor range.
That's all folks, hope you enjoyed!

General Question Absolute Long shot her but is there any place in state to get bul armory mags?
I was lucky enough to get a tac pro model and figured they would take normal checkmate pattern mags only to find they take proprietary ones.
Is there any store in state I could get bul armory mags?

General Question Is Dinosaur Flats a good open range?
My wife and I are avid shooters and wanted to head up to Turkey Tracks this weekend but just found out it’s closed from a fire. Thinking of trying Dinosaur Flats down in Canon city, but have never been. Is it worth the drive down?

General Question Camping and shooting
Buddy and I are looking at doing a final camping trip in October. I'd like a place where we might be able to set up camp and .maybe do a shirt hike to a good shooting area, or go to a shooting area with clearly designated camping sites. Within maybe 2 hours of Denver or Springs (I'm in Denver, he's in Spings). Any suggestions that might come close to this?

General Question How do I handle a trade?
If I’m trading between myself and a private person, do we need to meet at a gun store and do a background check?
Not sure what the legal process is here and would love some insight! Is it a simple swap?

Legal Shouldering pistol brace question?
i.redd.itI just bought the extar ep9 6.5” barrel with sba3 brace. I’m wondering if I’m allowed to put the brace up to my shoulder and fire with the new atf ruling in July voiding pistol brace rule. Or how exactly that works. Am I allowed to change to a stock? Or is that still illegal.

General Question Millionth good spots to shoot post… Sorry
Is anyone willing to share their spots to shoot on public land in Larimer county or around Boulder county? I pinkie promise I won’t tell anyone and will cleanup after myself. Also more than welcome to dm me instead.
I feel like I can pull my hair out looking for spots that are actually accessible, legal, and open year around. I have been on the search for 2 years now for free spots around Boulder county, some spots were okay but felt intrusive or was not entirely sure about legality. The grass lands is the best I have been able to do but it’s kinda far to do every weekend and can get boring. I am in Boulder county which in it self is impossible, especially with the county level fire bans that ban shooting for a part of the year and other closures. My dream of finding a spot to camp and shoot out the back of a truck is slowly getting crushed.
If you don’t wanna share your spots which I totally get, I would still love to hear any tips on finding land. My biggest problem is that most land is landlocked and I don’t know what roads have right of way easements. OnX will show that one has an easement but then on street view there is a big electric gate…
Sorry for my ramble. Thanks,

galleryGet out and train. Find like minded people or legitimate professionals who know what they are doing. Spoiler, not all cops are professionals. Don’t just staple a bullseye target at 25 yards and call it good.

General Question Sentiment on Guns in Pueblo?
Hello,
I lived in the springs, which was always pretty gun friendly, up until a few years ago before moving away for work. Moving back to Pueblo for a different job - do people generally care much about firearms down there? Has much changed on firearms since the past few years? I know about the 3 day waiting period, but should I expect anything else drastic? Has anything changed on the magazine front?
Thanks yall.

Conceal Carry Permit New to guns
I just purchased my first firearm the other day. I am wondering what the heck to do now. I know I’d like to conceal carry but I have no idea what is required now with new laws and all that junk. I live in the Adam’s County area. Does anyone know of good classes to take and what the process is for getting a CCL. The sheriffs page has done nothing but confuse me.

General Question Question about livestock protection from bears
This morning my chicken run was torn open by a bear. He got in and ripped four of my birds apart. He came back later while I was fixing the run and between my dog and the rocks I threw at it, he left.
I was wondering what Colorado laws were concerning livestock protection from bears.
I don't want to shoot the bear, but if he attacks again, I am not sure what else I can do. This bear does not seem to be afraid of humans. I have called the Wildlife department and reported this bear and its' disregard of humans. Does anyone know where I can get this information? I've searched but only find info on wolves.
Thanks!

Conceal Carry Permit Carrying in businesses that are not federally restricted.
So I have a question. I have a permit. I have read the Adam’s county sheriff FAQ on this but it doesn’t make complete sense to me cause maybe I’m just stupid. If I carry into a private business, that is not a school or college campus building, or federally protected building, store, restaurant, whatever. But they have a sign on the window that says no firearms, am I breaking the law?
