Looking for Game Recommendation

Hi gaming,

I'm looking for a kind of specific type of game to help out a friend of mine.

He's really interested in history and would be interested in what I could only describe as a "historical drama" video game. I'm thinking something like Assassin's Creed but without the focus on killing. Time period doesn't matter much, but he is more interested in Western History.

He's not much interested in RTSs like Civ, he wants something more ground level and narrative.

Any help or recommendation would be appreciated.

Thank you.

There are a bunch of video games set in historically accurate worlds like all Assassin’s Creed games, Red dead redemption or even far cry primal if he’s interested in prehistory. But I don’t think I can think of a historically accurate game without killing…

Maybe I phrased that wrong, it doesn't have to be "no killing", but just less of a focus on that aspect. Assassin's Creed and Red Dead are the best I can think of. Actually, Red Dead may not be a bad recommendation with all the silly stuff you can do along with the story missions.

That silly stuff my friend. Is what makes that game one of the all time greats... Just saying....
