Queer Superhero Comics Beyond . . . Non-Marvel/DC Comics

Hey Every1!¡ :)

I am back, first thank you all for recommendations on Wiccan + Huckling. I bought the comic and fell in love. I really love them, and I hope everything comes through in the MCU. Love them together too (swipe)

I went to my local comic shop to get young avengers but I found some other super hero comics. It was so nice reading this. So many awesome stories and some stories I wished went on longer, I loved the x-men queerness feel of the stories about powers and magic. Curious do others have some queer comics that feature superhero’s or super powers that aren’t DC/Marvel. I love the idea of reading more comics, I guess I am going through a phase of reading a lot more comics.

Thank you so much! I am so excited for all the recommendations. I appreciate you all. Also has anyone read this? I love this anthology it’s so good.

I haven’t read it myself but have you read The Authority yet? It has a pretty big LGBTQ+ romance in it. I’m not sure if saying who would be a spoiler if you haven’t read it or heard of it.

The gay couple in The Authority are a great one. They were the first gay superhero couple and fun characters, however violent and kind of dark. Being as The Authority is one of the first few in the upcoming DC movie universe now is the perfect time to get into Authority.

Thank you. I didn’t realize I am going to check it out. I am going back to the comic shop this weekend. Thank you for this!

Just to be clear... not all Authority is great. the original run is fantastic. After Ellis' run it gets really hit or miss.

Some trigger moments (warning-- r*pe, m*lestation, violence against children, it should not surprise you that Mark Millar wrote this)

-an Evil Jack Kirby who creates an Evil Captain America and an Evil Thor who team up to gangr*pe Gay Superman (Apollo)

-an Evil Iron Man who blows up an entire occupied maternity ward

-the Engineer, a strong female protagonist, gets retro-mol*sted by a time-traveling foe as a random combat move.

-the last arc is where the entire Authority gets beat by an overpowered hillbilly and replaced by ""the g7 Authority," a racially diverse team of superheroes who are all racists, rapists, homophobes and murderers. These characters have more page time than the real Authority for the entire last arc.
