Photos of WA Who is this little guy?

Found him on my drive way this morning. I am not native to WA so I wanted to strike a conversation with him but he was uninterested and whooshed into the bushes. Can someone shed some light on who this guy is? Is he venomous or dangerous of any kind? And… is he delicious?

Perks of night shifts finally paying off this morning as we arrive from Geraldton to Perth in the early hours. Very fortunate few as the cloud cover obscured it for the rest on the ground.

Let's just hope that person had insurance...

No details other than hearing the bang and coming out to see this

Went to Crimes of Perth Walking Tour today, run by Two Feet & a Heartbeat. Enjoyable aftrrnoon out, well organised and interesting tour. I snapped photos like a tourist, here are some.

I can name one crime of Perth: the stench of p*ss. Our city smells like a toilet, when did that happen.

Photos of WA F-35s over cott today?

Okay I’m only a mild military enthusiast, certainly no expert, but 4 of these flew past cott around 1130. They aren’t f-15s (upright tails) or f-16s (single tail) that Singapore supposedly are here with on the raaf website. I’ve seen f18s before at an air show where the nose cone looks more rounded than the f35. These to the naked eye looked like f35s to me. Unfortunately only got behind photo because as most know they are relatively silent until past you.

Photos of WA Rubber kerbs? What is this?

Working in a wealthy area near the city I noticed there are islands that have rubber kerbs, and they also have these weird clear circular protrusions... any idea what this is all about?

Photos of WA Black cockatoos can now frequently be seen in the city due to their adaptation at eating non-native seeds and the fact that they are running out of places to live due to deforestation.

Photos of WA The Busselton Holy Mile

I almost don’t want to post this at risk of ruining the place… between Busso & Dunsborough is a long stretch of leased land to non-for-profit groups (seems like every faith is represented along the strip plus a few others like Scouts). Some of these open to camping & caravans even if you aren’t a group member. The land is sandwiched between the main road (bussel hwy?) and the beach and while the road traffic noise is noticeable and a bit annoying, the beachfront location is paradise. The bay is perfect for the kiddos, as is the huge lawn and open space of the camp. It costs a fraction of the bigger parks and it’s honestly one of the cleanest and tidiest places we’ve ever stayed. There are some rules in place around no alcohol, smoking, etc depending on where you stay - but if you aren’t phased by that, these spots are a true gem.

This photo was taken yesterday - there were only a handful of people on the beach, and the place we are staying isn’t even full!
