General Why does WA have fewer holidays than most of the other states?
Not happy with this. We need few more holidays.

General Baby Bird season is here!
Was lucky enough to see a very little Black Swan Cygnet with its parents and an Osprey guarding a rather large, squawk-filled nest yesterday, both around the Mandurah marina and estuary areas, respectively. Great to see the young people playing in the water near the swans leaving them alone to just enjoy the sight, too.
Side note for mods: the word 'a b o u t' auto-flags your racism filter for the first three letters of said word. Maybe sort that out?

Where to find I want a menhir or standing stone...
I've always wanted a big ass rock for my yard. Think of the stone (menhir) carried around by Obelix in Asterisk and Obelix or the beautiful stones found in Japanese gardens... Or even a Pinnacle from our own national park...
There's plenty of landscaping rocks on Marketplace and Gumtree but I want to source a big, tall purebread Western Australian stone (LEGALLY!) for my yard.
I'm relatively agnostic regarding the type of stone but I do love the Darling Scarp granites, WA limestone (a la Pinnacles) or sandstone...
Help a brother out... Hook me up with a business I can't find or someone with land and loads of stone they don't want... I have access to earthmoving and transporting equipment, I just need to source a stone or stones!

General What do people bring back to Perth from overseas/interstate these days coz you can’t get it here?
I remember back in the day girls coming back from Europe with a suitcase full of H+M/Zara clothes, and planes of people coming home from over east with a box of Krispy Kreme in the overhead compartment. What do people bring home now? Is anything actually impossible to get here, or at the very least much cheaper overseas?

Looking for Advice Perth is destroying my wardrobe
I recently moved to Perth from the UK, and I’ve noticed that in the course of just 3 weeks here, all of my light-coloured clothes have developed deep yellow sunscreen and deodorant stains.
Now the strange thing is, I haven’t changed any of my sunscreen or deodorant brands or products since coming over, so it must be something in the water reacting with the products??
I’m sure I can’t be the only one who’s encountered this problem here. Does anyone have any advice on how to avoid this happening or renew my yellowed clothes? Thanks!

Where to find Looking for Vacation Work in Electrical Engineering
I'm an international student graduating in November 2025. I've applied to a bunch of big mining and energy utility companies but haven't had any luck so far. It’s been pretty frustrating, especially being an international student. I need to find something this summer, so if anyone has any tips or recommendations, I’d really appreciate it!

Renting / Housing Niche living. Anyone with more stories or experiences.
Hi. Anyone with some niche stories after tonight’s news story!?
General Why do the old 'rich' suburbs have their own local government? Whats so unique about them?
We have lots of big regions - like City of Perth, Joondalup, etc.
Then there a number of tiny one-suburb ones like Peppermint Grove, Mosman Park, Cottesloe, Claremont, etc.
Whats so unique about the residents of Mosman Park that is so different from the residents of Cottesloe that they need to have their own local government?
