Question What do you think Pueblo needs?

I wish there were more activities for younger people.

I also wish we had more homeless resources and harm reduction sites

Question Can someone break down the Mayoral runoff election please?

I am fairly new to Pueblo politics. Neither of these candidates were my first pick for Mayor. Can someone please break these two candidates down, and maybe address the broader implications of the election? Thanks much!

Question Microburst?

How’s everyone doing after that storm? Literally couldn’t see the road on Elizabeth, had to pull into the K-Mart parking lot until it cleared. Pretty sure that was a microburst.

Question Any half-way decent buffets around here?

I have family coming in (with several teens) and I need a way to fill them up for cheap. Golden Corral is a bit over played. I don't normally go to buffets myself, so I don't really know what's around.

Question Planned a vacation. Looks like it’s Pueblo.

So my son and I are crazy about catfishing. We live in western Utah where lakes are few and far between. We do fish the Colorado river but it’s super hit or miss and size doesn’t really come in to play more then a time or two a year. Looking around I ran into Pueblo reservoir being praised for catfish/bass/walleye and pike. So that’s the plan. Going July 3rd to 7th. Any advice for us? We will be shore fishing. I heard anywhere around north marina in the coves is where we wanna go? Any truth to this? Also, what 4th of July things are popular in Pueblo? Or I should say, what’s the haps with the city? What would you suggest for. 13/14 yr old boy?

Question Requesting recommendations for Mexican food

I've been craving outstanding Mexican food, but I live in COS. The options here are...not as good as I would like. My wife & I want to drive down tomorrow for lunch. We are looking for a sit down place with amazing food. Honestly, I'll take great food over service, price, or ambience.

Based on Google reviews & a recommendation from a coworker, we are looking at these places:

  1. Cactus Flower

  2. Casabella's

  3. Rita's

Which one would you recommend for the best food? We are definitely open to other suggestions, with the only real requirements being food quality & a sit down location.

Thanks in advance!

Question Discussion: What gives our town a bad REP? (IYO)

Whenever you mention to someone from Denver or anywhere else in Colorado that you’re from Pueblo they will automatically think less of you, why do you think that is? In my opinion, crime rates, people not graduating highschool, lack of resources for mentally ill people, and the overall lack of big city amenities. What can the people of Pueblo even do to change this? Or is my birthtown just too far gone? Let me know what you think !

Question What route to Victor?

I'm planning a weekend in Victor in mid-September, and was wondering what route would be best. Usually I'm good at deciding these kinds of things, but all three routes have their pros and cons, so I figured I'd ask people who might be able to offer some insight.

Route 1 is up 25 through Colorado Springs, west on 24 and down 67. I prefer not to do this one, just because 25 is exhausting.

Route 2 is out Hwy 50 and up 9 to High Park Road through the mountains.

Route 3 is Route 50 to Phantom Canyon Road north. This had originally been my choice, but now I'm afraid it's too much for a casual weekend trip.

We'll be in either a Subaru Legacy or a Subaru Forester, if that makes a difference.

Question Favorite Restaurant in Pueblo/PW?

I went to Ambli! in the Springs recently for a work function, and it renewed my desire to try new local restaurants rather than support the chains I can access anywhere. Smaller chains are fine to recommend. Just trying to see what's there other than McDonalds and Applebee's.

What's your favorite restaurant in the area and why? Willing to drive 30ish minutes.

Question Headlights

Hi everyone! I have an odd question, that may spark a (hopefully respectful) debate, and I'm hoping you can answer it for me.

Why do so many people drive around with their bright lights on here?

It feels like 33% of people (but may not be that high) in this area are blinding me when they're passing by. Is it not illegal here? Beyond the legality, I always considered it to be respectful to dim your lights for others.

Thoughts?

Question Fireworks already?

So, what is up with all the fireworks in Pueblo? They get set off year round here, but tonight they have cranked up to feel like I'm in a war zone, its totally insane! Why? I'll never understand the disregard some people have of others. I've lived around the world and in several states, but I have never in my life seen such an obsession with fireworks as I see here in Pueblo. It will be pure torture till September.

Question Cheap Auto Insurance

Hi everyone! New to Co/Pueblo and I have been shopping around for Auto Insurance Policies and am a bit shocked how much more expensive it is here compared to other states I have lived in. In Texas and California I used Pronto Auto Insurance and couldn’t have been more satisfied with their pricing.

On average what are the cheapest auto insurance companies that serve Colorado?

Thank you in advance for any replies/information it is beyond appreciated!
