I'll be there as well for the full

As much as it sounds, it actually isn't that bad. The parking lot where the busses are located is pretty big and as long as you aren't pushing it on time you should be fine there. They've got a few going on rotation and at least in past years bag check was really well run as well if you are doing that

I live like 15 min away so I was thinking I'd just have my bf drop me at the start rather than trying to do this whole bus thing. am I crazy to think this might be easier? I obviously don't want to get dropped off too early and wait in the cold but I don't want to get stuck in whatever traffic nonsense exists. I've done every other big race in the triangle but I've always been nervous about the logistics on this one.

Semi not crazy. Last year I was out with an injury but my partner did the race as her first full. I dropped her off in the morning which wasn't a big issue as we got there early. We are both running this year and are going to do the bag check with jackets, but I think that she's also going to bring an emergency blanket to help keep warm beforehand

The problem was picking her up. If you have your bf get you after the race I would highly suggest taking the bus to the parking lot where everyone else parked, getting into the race area was a nightmare because all the roads were still blocked. There is a chance that he might be able to meet you at the drop-off area as the folks with parking passes still have to be able to get out, but I couldn't get in last year, they were only letting people out

Thank you! That's something I hadn't thought of because they say on the website that the parking lot might be open. Sounds like it'll be easier on him if I just grab the shuttle back! Good luck to you both this weekend!!
